UNITED STATES—On Tuesday, April 16 at 11:41 a.m., American Airlines announced on their Facebook page, that that they “are in a system-wide delay” that will be lasting until 2 p.m.

While they did not go in to detail regarding the reason for the massive delay, they did comment that their reservation and booking tool, Sabre, is offline.

The company went on to clarify that the system shut down did not have anything to do with Sabre’s system, but is a complication on their part.

The airline company apologized for the inconvenience the delay caused, and assures that they are working to solve the problem as fast as possible.

Approximately 275,000 people fly with American Airlines and 239,000 reservations are made daily.
