Donald Trump's Big Announcement
Posted by Ivetta Babadjanian on Oct 25, 2012 - 1:00:01 PM

WASHINGTON D.C.Since Monday, October 22, American businessman and television personality, Donald Trump, hinted that he had a big announcement to make regarding Democratic President Barack Obama. He insinuated that he would reveal news that could change the course of the presidential election.

He made his announcement via YouTube on Wednesday, October 24 in which he called Obama "the least transparent President in the history of the United States."

"Now, I have a deal for the President," said Trump in the video. "If Barack Obama opens up and gives his college records and applications, and if he gives his passport applications and records, I will give to a charity of his choice -- inner city children in Chicago, American Cancer Society, AIDS research, anything he wants, a check, immediately, for $5 million."

He gave the President until October 31 to respond to his request. Many were surprised by the video as prior to its posting it was rumored that the announcement would regard Trump's previous allegation that Obama and his wife almost had a divorce a few years back.

Trump, 66, was one of the people who claimed Obama was born in Kenya rather than Hawaii and requested to see his birth certificate. When Obama released his birth certificate in 2011, Trump took credit and stated that it was due to his efforts that the documents were released.

During the White House Correspondents' Dinner, Obama said, "No one is happier, no one is prouder about putting this birther issue to rest than the Donald. And that's because he can finally get back to focusing on the issues that matter - Did we fake the moon landing? What really happened in Roswell? And where are Biggie and Tupac?"

The nonpartisan website,, pointed out that Obama's college records are not sealed by a court order. Under federal law, it is illegal for Occidental, Columbia, or Harvard Law School to release someone's records without their consent.

Some believe that the President should release the papers as it is an opportunity for money to be sent to charity while others frown upon Trump's efforts.
