Two Tapped For Upcoming Caylee Anthony Movie
Posted by Roger Hitts on Jul 19, 2011 - 10:56:02 PM

HOLLYWOOD—Actress Mila Kunis and journalist-actor Tommy Garrett are among the first to review scripts for an upcoming movie surrounding the death of Caylee Anthony, to be executive produced by Belle Avery. The script is based on the soon-to-be released fictional novel surrounding Caylee’s life, written by Kathleen McKenna and Marti Rulli.

The film may eventually include “Black Swan” actress Kunis and Canyon News entertainment editor/columnist Garrett, based on their advanced views of the film treatment. “I’m so excited to be offered a role in this film,” Garrett said Monday, from his Beverly Hills office. TV Guide columnist Michael Logan recently referred to me as an alpha dog, and I hope I can live up to that! I cannot discuss the role I am playing yet, but it’s very exciting to work with Belle Avery and her team.

Veteran newsman, six-time author and entertainment publicist Garrett has been building an impressive resume in front of the camera: after a well-received appearance on Ed Begley’s go-green TV reality series “Living With Ed,” Garrett was cast in a role on the daytime TV soap opera “As The World Turns” in 2010 and later that year, landed a plum role in director Henry Jaglom’s acclaimed film, “Queen of the Lot,” co-starring “Falling Skies” leading man Noah Wyle and film star Tanna Frederick.

In addition, Garrett is a longtime TV host, first with his nationally syndicated “Somewhere In Time,” filmography series, and now with his new movie/talk show “Hollywood Classics,” produced by New York City director/producer Daphna Inbar. “Hollywood Classics” made its debut at the Iowa Independent Film Festival over the weekend.

Avery is a long-time actress and scriptwriter who gained fame as executive producer of 2007’s award-winning film “Before The Devil Knows You’re Dead,” starring Phillip Seymour Hoffman and Ethan Hawke.

The film release is planned for later this year.
