Canyon Construction Slated To Begin May 14

BEVERLY HILLS—Over several decades, the
ColdwaterCanyon reservoir has been in existence, but it is about to get a much needed makeover. The reservoir has been in operation since 1928 and has received all the necessary maintenance and repairs to keep it in good operation. However, due to unforeseen natural disasters, it is now in need of extensive renovations. The reservoirs water supply is used by much of the business district, as well as, the central and southwest portions of the city. Due to damage, complete replacement of what is currently present, is required. After several meetings, the date has finally arrived.
The City of
Beverly Hills and the SEMA Construction, Inc. Company of
Lake Forest have announced the start date for the
ColdwaterCanyon construction project. The $22.5 million dollar reservoir project to replace the current
ColdwaterCanyon reservoir hopes to add additional water capacity and new park space. Officials say that the new park will include a track, seating areas, a new fountain system and immaculate landscaping.
The project should last two and a half years and is slated to begin on May 14, 2007. The construction is to take place on the east side of the
ColdwaterCanyon at the intersection of
Beverly Drive. At present, no road closures have been planned. To avoid traffic pitfalls, construction staff will be parking off site and construction will only take place between 8 am and 4 pm, Monday through Friday.
