Adrian Grenier has been on the hit HBO series "Entourage" for the past three years. Honing his craft and becoming a great actor, the green eyed hunk is sure to become one of the biggest stars in television. Dabbling in movies also, the star has received rave reviews for films such as "The Devil Wears Prada" and "Across the Hall." Costars all rave about his professionalism and the easy going manner he conducts on the set where ever he is working. One costar told me, "the guy always knows his lines, is a real pro and you can't dislike anything about him."
Grenier also is making his mark as a producer and writer of short and independent films. He runs Reckless Productions. A neat name but speaks nothing about the thoughtful path the star is taking; to become one of the biggest stars in television and film. The entertainer seems very adapt at choosing the perfect roles and projects so far and is connected with a top notch management team. Greiner's the star to watch right now. The New York native surprises many with his inate talent and professionalism. There are many producers in the industry who are taking notice of this man. And for those of you who have not seen the series "Entourage" in which Grenier stars, it's on HBO. The show is the most realistic picture of what Hollywood is really like. The series costars Jeremy Piven, one of the most diverse performers today.
My dear friend Amanda Abel, the grand daughter of legendary performer Eddie Cantor is performing with her best friend Michael Taylor Gray in "Two Too Much" at the Celebration Theatre at 7051 B Santa Monica Blvd. in Los Angeles. The performance started last evening, Saturday, May 19 and will run for at least a month. Reservations can be made by calling the theatre at: 323-957-1884 or by going to www.celebrationtheatre.com It's called a frivolous, fun and fantastic cabaret. With the talented Amanda Abel and the great Michael Taylor Gray, it truly is all of those things and then some.
Rarely does a movie today move me. There are a few exceptions but "Pan's Labyrinth," which was released on DVD this week in Spanish with English subtitles, is a must see for everyone. The movie was named by Entertainment Weekly last week as best film of the decade. It absolutely is. The moving picture chronicles a young girl's life during the Facist Spain of 1944. Ofelia, the bookish step daughter of the vicious Army Office faces a bleak existence and therefore retreats into a fantasy world that you are mesmerized by. Get this on DVD today; my pick of the year.
If the legendary movie star John Wayne had lived. He'd be turning 100 years old this month on the 26. The Duke still lives! He left a legacy of some of our most beloved and enduring westerns and other films for our entertainment. My personal favorite is "The Searchers." There will never be another John Wayne in this business. But some stars like Adrian Grenier, Will Smith and Johnny Depp remain with us and have what The Duke had; on screen charm and incredible talent.
