The San Diego Convention Center is home for the 44th Annual Comic Con.
SAN DIEGO—The streets of Downtown San Diego lie empty under the beating California sun, but tonight that will change when sci-fi fans from all around the world come together to the San Diego Convention for the 44th Annual San Diego Comic Con.

This year Comic Con promises to be bigger and better than ever; move over comic book nerds and welcome the tributes, initiates, shadow hunters and more.

Sylvia Torres 22, from Whittier was the first in-line and spoke to Canyon News about the event.

"I feel Dauntless (divergent reference) and Cold *hugs blanket* This is my first year and I'm first in line!!! I cannot contain my excitement!  Let the nerd fest begin! I just hope I don't freeze to death!" said Torres.

From July 18 to July 21, Hollywood stars will flock from Los Angeles to San Diego to attend panels where fans can ask their questions, get their signatures, get their photos, and earn some free swag.

Canyon News reporter Alice Perez will be there at the event giving you the up-to-the-minute news on sneak peaks, previews, the who's who of Comic Con and much more.
