This Week In Entertainment News

What a week this has been. We are going into our Independence Day holiday in just a few days and where our hearts, prayers and concerns should be is with the American and coalition soldiers who are fighting for our rights and for civilization itself, but they are not only forgotten by the media, but also by the American public.

Paris Hilton's prison release was treated the way Nelson Mandella's release from prison was treated decades earlier. The difference is, one was a real hero and the other, a habitual offender of DUI and driving on a suspended license. Mandella was only jailed because of his stance against apartheid and the gross injustices faced by blacks during South Africa's darkest era. Fighting for Paris Hilton, we witnessed journalists appearing on the cable news shows to proclaim how Paris Hilton is getting treated worse than the average criminal who commits the same crime.

Then there was the immediate shock and horror over the bodies of a wrestler, his wife and their seven year old son being found in an Atlanta, Georgia suburb. Only to be followed with the news that the wrestler himself strangled his wife and suffocated his son. Many were stunned this week by something else. Seeing the fans of the WWE star blog and rant about how nice he was to his fans and how gracious he was to many of them when they met him. The most important point that was lost, was he must have not been too nice; he murdered his wife and own child.

It has become very frightening to be a journalist lately. These two top news makers are reasons we should all worry about our image with the public. Lets spend some time honoring our soldiers in this war on terrorism during this holiday weekend coming up. And much less time honoring bad behavior.

Eileen Fulton broke records during the Mother's day holiday. She sold more CD's than anyone else on Amazon during that period. "Along For The Ride" is a real hit. Fulton's most brilliant work in years can be enjoyed for eternity by purchasing this CD. I recently got to see this diva perform in the famed Feinstein's At The Regency on Park Avenue in Manhattan and her rendition of "Fever" brought the house down. She also was captivating in "Pirate Jenny." Fans of this star's have also written to producers at "As The World Turns" to get her back on the show after a brief hiatus and the show is so much better now, seeing more of Lisa is every daytime viewer's dream. Fulton is one of the classiest and most talented entertainers in Hollywood history. To purchase any of her CD's go to: www.amazon.com.

Tonight on USA Cable, Constance Towers stars in the cult series, "4400." The star portrays Audrey Parker in the episode of the same name and she says, "It was a great script and a wonderful cast and crew. I thoroughly enjoyed the process of working with such a professional team in front of and behind the camera." Check your local listings for times in your area. TV Guide's columnist Michael Logan said of her work, "She is amazing in this role. Connie's one of the great stars of our time." So is Logan.
Thank you to Dr. Michael McGrath and all American and coalition troops who have fought and continue to fight to make the world a safer place for everyone. God bless America.
