Mona-vie Has Taken Hollywood By Storm
Posted by Tommy Garrett on Dec 16, 2007 - 5:20:24 PM

Recently, a friend named Rene' Thurston contacted me and told me of a wonderful new product that has made a difference in the lives of her family and friends.  I hear a lot of things in Tinseltown, but few things that I actually believe and even fewer do I feel compelled to write about.  Though tabloid reporting means you fill pages so that you can sell ADS, real journalism is something those of us involved take seriously.  So I receive packages in the mail on a daily basis.  Press kits for up and coming stars, gifts from studios, invitations from A-List Celebrities looking to promote their new projects or even a pet charity.  But when the bottles of Monavie arrived from Rene', a wonderful friend whom I met through a mutual acquaintance, Christopher Atkins, I thought, better see what is inside this box.

Rene' sent not only two bottles of this wonderful juice, containing 19 antioxidant rich, organic fruits, including the much-touted Acai berry from Brazil, but also a lot of literature on it.  Who ingests things today without reading all about it?  Surely not me.  I raise chickens and give clients organic eggs that they rave about, so natural and organic products are a staple in my life.  So after I read the materials, I called Rene' and she said, "Tommy, I learned about it from someone you think is a great actor.  Bradford Anderson of General Hospital."  Well, loving this guy's work as the quirky but loveable computer geek, Damian Spinelli, and knowing that he's involved made me want to try it.  Sure, I told her. "I'll try it for a few weeks and see what happens."  Immediate results occurred.  I noticed that I felt more clear headed, that I was able to get more work done.  Rene' has always worried about my multi-tasking in the fields of being a press agent, writer, columnist, journalist, author and Television and International Radio personality.  So she was right.  I also noticed other physical improvements.  I was looking better, my skin began to glow and I could go on and on.

Surely Bradford Anderson had a secret.  There is no other actor on General Hospital that has taken off like this guy.   He's by far the brightest light on the show.  But it's a show filled with superstars that deserve mentioning. One of which is Bradford's co-star and friend, Steve Burton, who plays mob hitman, Jason Morgan.  He and his wife, who have become distributors of this product, Monavie, sing its praises as well.  Steve is someone I've known and admired for many years, so it's great to have him as a believer.  He's one of the smartest guys in the industry.  Most child stars are scarred and jaded, but not Burton.  He's an amazing actor, man, husband and father.  Other  General Hospital stars are out promoting this product as well.  One of my favorite people, Derk Cheetwood, who plays Godfather Sonny Corinthos' bodyguard, Max, also says it's really a great product.  He and his wife love it so much, they have gone so far as to organize Monavie meetings!  Can these guys and Rene all be wrong? I don't think so.

Bradford tells Canyon News why he is sold on the product.  "As a young, healthy person, I'm always skeptical of anything that tells me it's going to make me feel better, because I feel pretty good already…Someone gave me a free bottle of Monavie, and being an actor, I feel a kinship with free items. So I tried it.  Two weeks later, I was giving it to everyone I know.  Not only did I have more sustained energy and better sleep, the more I researched it, the more I realized this product was not only helping my day-to-day life, but protecting my future by eliminating the free radicals that attack healthy cells. Each fruit in Monavie was picked not only for its antioxidant properties, but also their anti-inflammatory properties.  My mom's knees aren't swelling up anymore!  Her day-to-day life is easier; that in itself makes it worth it to me."

Rene Thurston, a new recruit and distributor, who was invited to the recent meeting for the product at the Beverly Garland Hotel in Universal City, California also concurs.  "I have to say, it was a little out of left field when  Bradford started talking about this amazing new juice he was drinking.  Actors generally don't publicly discuss their nutritional habits!  So I was intrigued.  After talking to Bradford about it a bit, he sent my husband, Anthony, and I some product to try.  We were hooked!  Especially my husband, who is probably the biggest skeptic I know.  He was most impressed with the change in his mood, and we both had better sleep and mental clarity; however, for me, reading all the science behind Monavie was what sold me.  My mother died of breast cancer, so I love knowing that I'm infusing my body with these antioxidant-rich fruits.  Plus the enthusiasm of Bradford, Steve, Derk and the 50 or so other attendees at the Monavie meeting was just infectious.  I find myself wanting to share it with everyone!"

I rarely find products that I stand behind this much.   But if this continues giving me the physical and mental lift that I am getting now, I may become the next Bradford Anderson.

Nicole Kidman's newest movie, The Golden Compass, was released a couple weeks ago to mixed reviews.  The Catholic League and other Christian groups have panned it as promoting atheism.  This is not true. You would think with Muslim honor killings and terrorism and so many other things facing the nation and world that these religious groups would talk about relevant issues and not slam the hard work of a young actress who is simply doing her job - entertaining.  Kidman's role is chilling.  Seeing her play a really mean person in a movie for the first time is great.  Sure she played a Stepford Wife in the movie bearing the same name.  But that was not a meaty role.  This one has her character living in a parallel universe and trying to gain possession of the golden compass, while plotting against some of the kids in the movie.  Kidman plays it like no other role she's had before.

The actress who is also a wife and mother deserves to be judged on the basis of her work, not on the basis of a role that religious groups find anti-church.  She's playing a role, people!
