BEVERLY HILLS—First of all, my name is "Buster."  Next, I'm going to get right to the point and be completely honest with you.  When I came into the shelter I was somewhat incorrigible.  I couldn't figure out why not one of the volunteers was happy about taking me for a walk.  Then, seeing that I'm very smart, I figured out that by giving them a hard time when they tried to get my leash off and on was not the way to make friends.  So, I changed my behavior and now I can look forward to taking my walks.

I get along fine with other dogs and love women.  I'm still a little leery of men.  That is due to the fact that I had been in an abusive situation, but I'm beginning to get over that.  There are so many nice men here at the shelter.  I still tend to guard my food and toys, but I'm sure that I'll get over that, too.  One more thing - if you adopt me, you have to have a yard with a fence higher than three feet high - as I'm a jumper.  That's the Jack Russell in me.  Oh, that's right, I forgot to tell you that I'm a Jack Russell Mix about five years old.
Okay, now let me tell you about some my good qualities.  I'm completely housebroken, and that's a real plus!  I've been told that I'm very smart and
sweet.  I love older and gentle people, and children that are older and
gentle with dogs. I hope that there is someone out there that will give me a chance to show what a fast learner I am - and with love and patience I promise to delete all my negative points in no time.
I wish a very Happy New Year to everyone!  Again, a big thanks to all the volunteers that take me and all my friends for walks and give us so much love.  I just heard a big "meow" from the cattery!  I was told to say Happy New Year from them, too, and to thank you for all the hard work you do cleaning their cages and changing their litter, as they can't do it themselves.  Do you want to know something?  Even if they could, they'd pretend they couldn't.  Oh, well, they're very lovable anyway!
All of us need homes, so please call to see us or to volunteer.  Again,
Happy New Year - we love you all.
