The latest Polygamy case going on in Texas is something that simply becomes unbelievable in today’s society. Sure the fallen away Mormon sect is no longer acceptable in the new Mormon Church. Today Mormon’s are extremely educated, have careers and are no longer persecuted by Americans or the U.S. government. The faces that have given the Mormons their good name include recent presidential candidate Mitt Romney, and we all remember the face of innocent Elizabeth Smart, the girl who was kidnapped from her parents’ Salt Lake City mansion and was believed dead, only to return home months later after being found by authorities. The good news on Miss Smart is that she’s doing very well and luckily the media has kept its promise and allowed her to live in privacy and to go on with what will become a very successful life.
To his credit, Anderson Cooper has previously featured this very group on his CNN hit show, Anderson Cooper 360. FOX covered about a week of the story of the convicted felon Warren Jeffs, but spends far more time on Natalie Halloway and the late Anna Nicole Smith than is sensible, fair or balanced. But viewers don’t seem to care about the injustice handed to the children of these groups, who not only teach subservient behavior to toddlers and teens, but racism, to hate the very nation from which they receive millions of dollars per year in social services and welfare. They are instructed to “bleed the beast,” the beast being the U.S. taxpayers who pay for services for people who are being raped and violated on a daily basis. Until this young 16-year-old girl called outside of the complex to authorities, Americans were and still are comfortable pretending the evil is simply in Afghanistan and parts of the Middle East. It’s certainly there. No doubt about it. But it’s at home too. We need to protect children in America. If the Catholic church is suffering from one thing today, it’s the fact that it failed and was even apathetic about the safety of children. If we are to remain viable arguing human rights in Darfur, the Congo and all throughout the Middle East, we’d better start paying closer attention to our very same problems at home. For years I heard people say, most children who are making a claim of sexual abuse have been brainwashed by psychiatrists. Yes, it does happen, but it is very minimal. Most children who make the claim are telling the truth. And we should always believe the children first. God Bless our nation. © Copyright 2011 by canyon-news.com |
