UNITED STATES—I will be the first to admit that I am not a fan of negative energy. When your surround yourself around people who prefer to drown in their sorrows, that energy begins to rub off on you as well. I hear the argument time and time again about being surrounded by negative people, negative thoughts or negative things, but that’s not an excuse to prevent a person for seeing the positive.
I’ve come to notice that a lot of people, who are prone to negativity, chose to be. Yeah, it sounds far-fetched when you hear it, but in all truth, its how they operate on a daily basis. They use the negative as a form of communication. I’ll be the first to admit that I tune out negative energy! I just don’t entertain the idea. Why not? Who does in life, life is too short to worry about every possible thing that can go wrong versus all the things that can go good. It goes with the law of attraction, which states what you think about you tend to attract.
If its negative thoughts clouding your judgment, than you’re prone to see those thoughts come to fruition. On the opposite end if the focus is on the positive things that you want to see happen, you’ll channel your energy towards those things. Negative energy is not only bad because it places others in sour moods, but it has an impact on one’s health. You become stressed, you worry, and you don’t eat, all things that can contribute to a possible heart attack, stroke, aneurysm or worse death.
So at this point you might be asking what can be done to combat negative energy, there are plenty. For starters, do something that brings you happiness. It could be as simple as reading a book, watching your favorite TV show, listening to music, exercise, playing a video game, going outdoors, etc. Everybody has something that makes them happy; the key is to find that ONE thing that you’re most passionate about.
This is not easy because finding one’s passion takes time. Some people live their entire life, without knowing what their true passion is. A true passion is something that is difficult to express with words, it places you in a state of FLOW where you’re not even aware of people around you or time as it ticks away. You become so engulfed in what you’re doing nothing else even matters at that particular time frame. Watching a movie is a great distraction for most people from negative energy as we become engulfed in someone else’s world for a few hours; it’s indeed the perfect escape most of the time.
With all these tips, it still doesn’t matter in America nowadays because it seems the more that we attempt to focus on positive energy there is always someone or something determined to adjust our mood to the somber. If TV contains too many bad things, turn it off. People around you focusing on the bad all the time; eliminate them from your life. It’s important to address these individuals so they understand that your goal is not to be engulfed in all that is wrong and their way of thinking is toxic in so many words to your being. Yeah, it can be a harsh word to say to someone, but at the same time, it gives them a reality check to re-examine how they think and why they think the way they do.
