The Power Of Money
Posted by Trevor Roberts on Dec 28, 2012 - 2:14:10 PM

UNITED STATES—It’s something everyone in the world wants.  If you already have it, you want more of it. Any guesses as to what I’m referring to? It's money! That green item that many of us have stashed in our wallets or purses that seems to make life so much easier; or so we think.  Money can brighten anyone’s day, but at the same time not having enough of it can cause many of us to stress out.

It's all about the Benjamins

Money allows us to buy groceries, put gas in our cars, to buy clothes, buy homes, and buy cars. Money does a lot of things, but does it buy happiness?  For decades we’ve heard the saying “Money can’t buy happiness.” It’s usually told by those people without money, but even those people who have loads of cash tend to be some of the unhappiest people in the world.

People that tend to have a lot of money abuse the power that comes with having that commodity. They sometimes flaunt it or force people who crave it to do deplorable things to get it.  At the same time, some of the wealthiest people in the world are some of the most selfish as well.  Of course they give to charities every so often because it makes them look good to do so, and more importantly what whispers would be said about them if they didn’t.

I feel that if money no longer existed, a lot of the problems and issues we have in the world would disappear.  Without money there wouldn’t be much that people could hold over someone’s head.  In addition, people would have to strive for something else in life considering money is no longer the top commodity.  Of course it would only be a matter of time before something else takes the place of it. With all due respect, money is something that drives our behavior. We work to acquire money and we use it to purchase things that make us happy, but in the end it’s just another commodity. You’re not able to take money with you when you die.
