WASHINGTON D.C.—Children are being abused and it is a serious problem that needs to be dealt with. Thankfully, law enforcement takes allegations of sexual abuse very seriously.

WASHINGTON D.C.—Our military generals are begging our political leaders to listen to them. This is a sobering time and they have a serious mission, which Americans seem to forget still exists.

common sense or moderation go? Lately between politicians and throughout our
nation, it seems that there is no more common sense.
LAUREL CANYON—He has the lower canyon abuzz with gossip, and not because he is a sinister coyote. There have been multiple sightings of a coyote-like animal with big ears.
WASHINGTON D.C.—Americans have forgotten the attacks on 9/11. Our brave military remains on the frontlines despite Americans refusal to admit to themselves a fight for civilization exists.
WASHINGTON D.C.—Two days ago we were sitting on the dock in Como waiting for our ship to come in. Not actually a ship, just a small commuter boat that connects the small communities.
WASHINGTON D.C.—Incivility has become popular amongst the most successful people in America: Congressman Wilson, Serena Williams and Kanye West. They were disrespectful at the very least.
WASHINGTON
D.C.—How many people still listen to NPR and take it seriously? Apparently that
list doesn’t include the editors and reporters for NPR. Two cases in point, and
both have to do with numbers.

CANYON—A place called Indian Rock in what the Norte Americanos first
called No Man's Canyon was surely going to catch my curiosity. The
Tongva Indians of Nopalera often hunted in this gorge.
WASHINGTON D.C.—Parents behaving badly has become the norm. It’s sad that our president's address to school children had to become a partisan divide when 30 percent of children drop out of school.
LAUREL CANYON—Laurel Canyon in the middle of a water war? Seems
hardly possible. But there is an undeniable trail of water that has been snatched,
which is now graciously being sold back to us.
WASHINGTON D.C.—The last time a new American political party was strong
enough to elect a president was in 1854. That was the Republican Party. Its
first elected president was Abraham Lincoln.
WASHINGTON D.C.—Politicians are
always signing legislation in the White House Rose Garden. Do Americans ever
think about what happens to legislation when it’s signed in that famed garden?
WASHINGTON D.C.—What would make a fitting legacy for Ted Kennedy? I
think it would be the election of a senator who is committed to the same great
public ideas Senator Kennedy often spoke about.
LAUREL CANYON—We’ve
all heard of book clubs, and mommy and me groups. Everyone tells us that
getting together for mutual support and to share interests is important to your
soul.
