You Are The Answer: Interview with Michael Tamura

By Kelly Carroll

Michael Tamura awakens souls.  With compassion, humor and wisdom, he heals thousands of people from around the world and helps guide them to their true destiny and life purpose. Michael believes that no matter the circumstance, everyone can find happiness and spiritual fulfillment if they just know how.  I asked this celebrated spiritual teacher, clairvoyant and healer to share his insights on soul purpose.  His recently released book You Are The Answer is an in depth study on the subject.  Here are Michael Tamura’s thoughts on Your Soul Purpose and Choosing to Celebrate Your Inner Life:

“What do I do with my life now?” The question echoes throughout our lives, sounding off at unexpected intervals, emerging from some hidden cavern within each of us.  At times it swirls in our mind like little dust devils: My summer job has ended, now what?  At other times it turns into a tornado blowing the roof off of our home: I lost my business, my mate left me, or I’ve been diagnosed with a serious illness.  Where do I go from here?  Sometimes it cracks through our whole being, a thunderbolt in the dead of night, and nails us to the spot: My beloved is dead.  How do I go on?

We may feel doomed if we can’t answer this pivotal question, if we’re at a loss as to what to do next.   Yet, as angels are wont to say: “Fear not!”  You may not believe it at first, but this question is actually a loving reminder from spirit.  If we can find neutrality and detach from our reactions, we may discover it’s real message: Choose spirit and fulfill our soul purpose.  Even a seemingly hopeless situation is actually an opportunity for us to celebrate our inner spiritual progress.

We ask, “What do I do now with my life?” only when we, as souls, are done with what we were doing.  We’ve “graduated” from that life experience. We now need to move on to our next “lesson.”  And, what do we normally do when we graduate from school?  We invite family and friends to celebrate with us.  Whether it took us days or years of hard work, we made it through.

Many of us, however, may find it difficult to celebrate what at first seems like a terrible loss.  We grow up believing that our fulfillment in life comes from achieving an extraordinarily successful career, a blissful marriage, an idyllic family life, and great health, as well as from doing something that makes a significant contribution to the world.  Of course, it’s wonderful to accomplish any of that.  But the truth is, we cannot hope to fulfill our purpose for living merely by doing all the “right” things or even by doing “great” things.  We fulfill our spiritual destiny, instead, only when we realize the truth of who we are.  We may have had glimpses of what this might be like on occasion: The joyous peace that we felt when someone saw, heard, or felt who we were inside.  At last, someone didn’t judge us by our cover.  It is this inner completion and progress we must celebrate, even when the outer seems a loss.

Whenever we ignore our true spiritual nature and fail to tend to our soul purpose, we experience fear.  We often misinterpret the call from spirit as a threat to our security and identity.  Then, we fall into the quicksand of trying to figure out what to do, further dividing our doing from our being.  Running from fear, we seek answers separate from who we are.  Sequestered from our truth, we become lost.

On the other hand, when we can validate that we are, we will intuitively know what to do.  Our actions flow effortlessly out of who we are.  Spirit graces this world with life.

Intense emotional release often follows the completion of a soul contract or cycle of karma.  The intensity depends on how much we desired the outcome.  And our judgments color the kind of release.  If the cycle completed was winning the Gold Medal or getting married to our long-lost soul mate, we might be overjoyed.  On the other hand, if fulfilling our contract with a beloved soul involved a death or a divorce, we may feel grief-stricken or angry at first.  However, regardless of our judgments about them, the emotions are the by-products of our karmic completion, ready for release.  The choice to not only accept but to also celebrate our karmic fulfillment is the choice to love and forgive.  The soul’s long journey is one of learning forgiveness until all attachments are surrendered in favor of returning to the wholeness of life that is love.

So, if you’re asking, “What do I do now?” Relax.  Make yourself a cup of tea.  Remind yourself that you’ve just graduated.  Know that the intensity of what you are feeling is commensurate with the spiritual import of what you’ve just completed. Remember that the emotions you’re feeling are on their way out of you.  You’re done; let them go. It’s time for you to celebrate; but, before you can rejoice, you may need to change your perspective to a spiritual one.  With neutrality, compassion and humor, review what you’ve just completed.  Choose to accept all that’s happened and release whatever judgments surface.  Forgive yourself and validate that limitless, eternal, all-knowing, all-loving, all-giving presence we call spirit. Let what you are to do next flow out of your inner being as you learn more about who you are.  Trust your intuition.  Celebrate your life – it’s more than meets your mind!
