HOLLYWOOD—The Golden Globes took place on January 13. Many consider the annual first-of-the season award extravaganza to be an Oscar prophecy. NBC reported its biggest ratings for the Globes, which delivered 19.7 million viewers, making the telecast the most successful Globes since 2007. Hollywood A-listers really rocked the red carpet. Stars took the ubiquitous hue to haute heights with nude hues, sexy backs and Hollywood retro-style hair.

Some of the stars that wore black were Kate Hudson, who shined in Alexander McQueen fishtails. Another fan of McQueen haute was Nicole Kidman, who was studded and cinched. Rachel Weisz wore a see-through Louis Vuitton. Sofia Vergara looked stunning in a Michael Cinco. Salma Hayek sparkled in a figure-flaunting black Gucci gown. "Smash" star Katharine McPhee looked super-sexy in a Theyskens' Theory gown, which left little to the imagination.

The ladies this year made the red carpet colorful, sporting the classic blacks, nude colors, and the new romantic shades of melon and floral. We noticed a few sapphire blues, like the Giorgio Armani worn by Jodie Foster, who received the Cecil B. DeMille Award. Other blue gowns were worn by Nicole Richie in embroidered Naeem Khan along with Morena Baccarin by Valentino Haute Couture. On the red carpet, lace played a major role as seen on "The Good Wife" nominee Julianna Margulies. Her Emilio Pucci gown was sheer and the blue lace high neck and cap sleeves added the extra class to the red carpet.

The plums were worn by Taylor Swift, who looked fabulous in a Donna Karan Atelier. Lena Dunham wore Zac Posen.

The eye-catchers gilded look was worn by Julianne Hough in Monique Lhuillier. Emily Blunt brought out Bollywood look in a Michael Kors gown. The reds were worn by Claire Danes in a draped Versace halter who also pulled off the best actress in a drama win for "Homeland." The red wine trend also included Naomi Watts.

In a category of her own was Jennifer Lopez, who shined and bedazzled everyone with her long-sleeved Zuhair Murad gown. The gown was stunning and only J-Lo could pull it off. The gown was a long-sleeved illusion netting adorned with lace-like sequins with no visible structure. Simply breathtaking and super-sexy. She was a definite standout on the red carpet.

J-Lo will be gracing the cover of February's issue of Harper's Bazaar. She was photographed in a palace on the shores of Istanbul, wearing Jimmy Choo's, the Mogul sandal from the Spring Summer' 13 collection.

It must have been very awkward for J-Lo to bump into her ex-fiance Ben Affleck and former boyfriend Sean "Diddy" Combs at the Globes. Cameras were rolling and the world was watching. We all know how awkward it can be to run into an ex. Let's hope that if Ben Affleck wins again, he doesn't repeat another breathless, rapid-fire speech. "Argo" still remains a long shot for best picture at the February 24 Academy Awards, where films almost never win if their directors are not nominated.

Rose's Scoop: Congratulations to Grandpa Charlie Sheen, who announced on the David Letterman show that his oldest daughter, 28-year-old Cassandra Estevez is expecting later this year.
