HOLLYWOOD
—In just a few days it will be the 4th of July. Barbeques, parades, picnics and fireworks will be everywhere in the country. It is the day America declared our independence. The dream of the country being free and people being equal burned brightly in the hearts of our forefathers back in 1776. The love of freedom that is expressed everyday by Americans who love this country and the principals it stands for and represents.

This hard fought freedom is what we hold close to our hearts and what the true meaning of the 4th of July is; this great independence. We saw the brave fight of the American team in the World Cup on July 1. They stood united as one country, while they lost the match to Belgium, they won in principle. Goalkeeper Tim Howard became an overnight star, the superhero, who received global recognition for his impressive 16 saves during the game; the most from any keeper in World Cup history.

Celebrities are some of the most influential trend setters in the world of fashion, style, movies and everything else in between, so it's no surprise that we want to know what they are doing on the 4th of July. Some of them are working like actor Steve Martin. He will be performing at the 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular at the Hollywood Bowl on July 2 and 3. Steve Martin & The Steep Canyon Rangers, Edie Brickell. Steve Martin has played banjo from North Carolina to the Royal Festival Hall in London. He also released a collaboration album with Edie Brickell titled "Love Has Come For You," which was released in April 2013. The two did the talk show circuit, such as "The View," and “The Late Show with David Letterman,” to promote the album.

The Rose Bowl on the 4th is one of the largest fireworks displays in Southern California with music and food. If it’s BBQ, that you are looking for, the Queen Mary in Long Beach takes you to the 20s and 30s in the Grand Salon and Observation Bar with multiple DJ and live music stages, culminating in the spectacular 4th of July fireworks show.

For the thespians, the annual reading of the Declaration of Independence by Shakespeare in Orange County will take place at the Festival Amphitheatre in Garden Grove. An ensemble of actors and patriots read the entire text of the Declaration of Independence. The best is always free.

The Santa Monica 4th of July Parade is another event worth attending, you'll see various youth groups, veterans organizations, and civic leaders proceed down Main Street. Parade-goers can then hop to bars like Finn McCool's Irish Pub and 31 Ten to enjoy the rest of the evening.

On the east coast, the 35th Annual Macy's 4th of July Fireworks will take place and make its return to the East River which will light up one of New York's most famous landmarks- the Brooklyn Bridge. Some of the performers include Enrique Iglesias who never fails to satisfy. He is one of the best-selling Spanish artists ever with record sales surpassing 100 million albums worldwide. Miranda Lambert, Hunter Hayes, Lionel Richie and Ariana Grande among others will also perform.

Rose’s Scoop: Rihanna is such a huge fan of Cristiano Ronaldo that before the Portuguese National team exited the World Cup; she kept on tweeting and cheering him on.

Wishing everyone a safe and Happy 4th of July Weekend!
