Fall Fashion And More!

HOLLYWOOD—With the summer vacation clock ticking away, everyone is getting ready for fall fashions. From rich ruby reds, to crimson run deep this fall; while the colors-brown and orange, red and purple will shine. We will see plenty of Art Deco prints and a trace of the decadent 30s will surface again.
While designers in the past wouldn't dream of sending a model down the runway bare-faced, the look for the fall is fresh-faced using nude makeup. It's the new natural look with nothing, but a simple tinted moisturizer, a swoosh of mascara and a dab of blush. The lips are merely balmed making a surprising statement.
Along with fashion, there is always the scent of fragrance in the air. That could explain why cosmetic firm Elizabeth Arden share price dropped by 24 percent, after it revealed a plunge in sales of celebrity-linked perfumes, as well.
Arden was founded in 1910 and became the go-to shop for glamorous, famous people throughout the decades.
Back in the 50s, Marilyn Monroe was a staple in the store, and in 2008 actress Catherine Zeta-Jones opened its new
Fifth Avenue flagship store. Sales have been hit hard by the decline in interest for music stars such as Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift. The company, according to published reports, has admitted there was a decline in other scents linked to celebrities. Elizabeth Arden markets perfumes for a number of famous names, including Britney Spears, Jennifer Aniston, Mariah Carey, Elizabeth Taylor, along with the Rocawear designer fragrance.
Taylor Swift's new album "1989" is set to arrive in stores in October.
Taylor Swift is shaking off her country music roots, for now, and embracing pop. The 24-year-old is releasing her first full-length pop album in October. She debuted her first single, "Shake it Off," for the upcoming album. Swift's last effort was 2012's “Red,” which sold 1.2 million copies in its first week. She said she was mainly inspired by late 80s pop music when recording 1989 over the past two years. The new album is out on October 27.
Mark your calendars, the 21st annual SAG awards will be presented on January 25 at the
Los AngelesShrineExhibitionCenter. Miss Debbie Reynolds will be honored by the Screen Actors Guild for her professional and humanitarian accomplishments. She will receive the union's highest accolade, the lifetime achievement award.
What an honor, that I was privileged to interview Miss Reynolds a few years ago. She has more than 50 films, two Broadway shows and two TV series to her credit. She is also President of The Thalians, which was founded in 1955 by a group of young actors to give back to the community. Over the past five decades, the group, which also includes Board Chair actress Ruta Lee, has raised more than $30 million in support of the center.Miss Reynolds published her first memoir in 1987 and updated it with 2013's "Unsinkable: A Memoir." Some of the previous winners of the award include Dick Van Dyke, Elizabeth Taylor and Julie Andrews.
Rose's Scoop: Just when you thought it was safe to watch TLC again, the network has plans for multiple specials featuring Kate Gosselin and her brood of her eight. TLC, which pulled the plug on "Kate Plus Eight," apparently feels there's an appetite for more, after the ratings were so strong, when Kate returned to the screen back in June for a special.
