HOLLYWOOD—When you think of Beverly Hills, the first thing you think of is: ritzy mansions, shopping on Rodeo Drive and upscale restaurants. These days you can spot celebrities just about everywhere. We stopped at the Grove last week in L.A. and bumped into our buddy Maria Menounos who was hosting the TV show EXTRA. Mario Lopez, the co-host was covering the Sundance Film Festival and then was headed to the Presidential Inauguration on January 21. The special guest star on January 18, was fashion stylist and designer Rachel Zoe.
Zoe was promoting her new line of Jockey "must haves," that included the black slip that smoothes, shapes and slims. As a celebrity stylist, she has worked with Brenda Song, Lindsay Lohan, Mischa Barton, Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Garner, Kate Hudson, Eva Mendes, Demi Moore, Kate Beckinsale, Debra Messing, Miley Cyrus and Anne Hathaway just to name a few. Zoe with the assistance of Nicole Richie became the pioneer of the "boho-chic" look. Along with her Jockey line she also showed us her collection of diamond rings.

Fashion and beauty go hand in hand especially at the Los Angeles International Make-Up Artist Trade Show better known as (IMATS). The sold-out event took place at the Pasadena Convention Center in Pasadena on January 18-20. The enjoyable and magical event had an estimated 100 vendors with two days of presentations. With each and every year it keeps growing. The usual exhibitors were there from our friend Eve Pearl to Naked Cosmetics. However, missing from the two-day extravaganza was Jessie's Girl Cosmetics and NYX.
It used to be that celebrities were the ones hired for product endorsements. But that is not the case anymore. Due to the popularity of vloggers, the digital age has changed; thus making vloggers the number one choice. The beauty YouTube divas now influence women with their opinions on products and purchase decisions. Some of the most popular YouTube gurus that were at the event were Glamourista16, Ciaobellaxo, smlx0, meghanrosette and makeupbycamila. Camila who was doing makeovers for Sigma had a two-hour wait to meet and greet. All of these young ladies are extremely beautiful and personable.
The Makeup Museum showcased some of the work from "The Walking Dead," "Feast," Johnny Carson, Frank from "Drive Angry," "Lincoln," and Christopher Reeves "Superman," the work was created from Dream Out Loud and FX Studios.
On the last day of the event, one of the featured speakers was Kandee Johnson, who returned for her second year in a row. Kandee is a YouTube beauty diva sensation. Johnson has over 100 million views on her videos. This vibrant young mother of four looks fantastic and loves to give advice and beauty tips to teens.
The extravaganza was full of quality and it successfully resonated with the audience of an estimated 5,000 people who lined up for the weekend event. Michael Key, the show's director and CEO of Makeup Artist magazine, excelled in making IMATS, Los Angeles the makeup world's biggest weekend. The after-party also marked the 100th issue of the magazine, Michael Key was presented with a beautiful cake and champagne toast to celebrate the success of the magazine. Everyone from Royal & Langnickel to Sigma Cosmetics along with Tokyo Crush Wigs was in attendance. The party was fabulous with a Cirque du Soleil dancer and everyone walked away with a great feeling of beauty.
Rose's Scoop: Pink's Hot Dogs in West Hollywood is a must-stop if you're in the neighborhood. They just added "Bam," by Emeril Lagasse, the hot dog which is nine inches is topped with bacon and cole slaw, very, very filling.
