Mother's Day Gifts And More!
Posted by Rose Quintiliano on May 10, 2014 - 4:58:40 AM

Angelina Jolie.
—Mother's Day is always celebrated the second Sunday in May. It is a day to honor our mothers, maternal bonds, and the influence of mothers in society.  It is a time to reflect on why they are so special. They have unconditional love for their children, patience, resilience and love. They encourage, nurture and have compassion, and for doing the hardest job in the world, mothers deserve to be honored.

Here is a quick gift guide to show some extra-special appreciation: an inexpensive bracelet that is very trendy these days is by Alex and Ani; a beautiful skinny gold bangle with pave crystals is always beautiful. A beautiful Yves Saint Laurent's Love and Lacquers Reds set, is always fashionable. Perfume is always tasteful, the musky gardenia scent in a sculpted bottle is a work of art by Cartier, which recently launched La Panthere eau de parfum.

If mom loves to read, Diane Keaton's new memoir titled "Let's Just Say It Wasn't Pretty," is a good-read on beauty, aging, motherhood and the many famous men in her life.  If you can't afford to take her to Paris, and she loves to cook, the next best thing is a new cookbook titled "From Scratch," by Laurence and Giles Laurendon, which shows you that authentic French cooking doesn't require a toque.

One of the sexiest moms in Hollywood, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt will reteam on-screen for the first time since "Mr. and Mrs. Smith," the film that brought them together romantically. Details are not available, however, sources tell the Hollywood Reporter that the screenplay was written by Jolie, and that it may be a relationship drama she scripted several years ago about a couple who go on vacation in a final attempt to salvage their marriage.

Mom-to-be Savannah Gunthrie who will be on maternity leave from the morning show has NBC News staffers wondering who will fill in for her. Katie Couric, who left the "Today" show in 2008 for one of the biggest gigs in television journalism, anchoring CBS Evening News may return, according to the New York Daily News and the New York Post. Her show "Katie," comes to an end in June. She is also the global anchor for Yahoo! but according to reports is looking for a broadcast gig. Gunthrie is five months pregnant, so Couric would return in the late summer or early fall. NBC is also in talks with Meredith Vieira, according to published reports.

Hilary Clinton, will take on another exciting role: grandmother. Chelsea Clinton and hubby Marc Mezvinsky are expecting their first child this fall. The former First Daughter, 34, announced her news while speaking at an event for the Clinton Foundation's No Ceiling: The Full Participation Project, which seeks to empower women globally. I wonder if Hilary Clinton will say what difference does it make, when Monica Lewinsky writes about her affair with former President Clinton?  Lewinsky, 40, spoke out about the Clinton affair in an article breaking a decade silence in the Vanity Fair magazine which will be on newsstands and available in an audio edition on May 13.

Rose’s Scoop: Conflicting reports about Ben Affleck’s recent Vegas exploits. Sources have told various media outlets that the actor, director and future “Batman,” was banned for life from the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino last week for counting cards, but the hotel tells Fox News that Affleck is a “valued guest” and is “welcome back any time.”
