The teen sensation Miley Cyrus is selling out movie theaters in such record-breaking style that the film’s run has been extended. Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert, the 3-D film chronicling her recent tour, was the biggest debut ever over Super Bowl weekend, pulling in an estimated $29 million, according to the Associated Press. The concert film is a big hit among the tweens and teens. It features the 15-year-old Cyrus both as herself backstage and as her Disney Channel character, pop sensation Hannah. Disney, the distributor, planned to have the movie out for only a week, but now has decided to keep it in theaters until it runs its course. The film was able to fill the void for Hannah Montana fans that were unable to catch one of the live shows on the Hannah Montana 54-date tour.
Speaking of tours, Jay-Z and Mary J. Blige will tour this spring. The Heart of the City tour begins March 22, in Miami and ends on April 16 in Los Angeles at the Hollywood Bowl. Tickets for the show went on sale on February 15, via Ticketmaster.

Everyone was looking forward to seeing Amy Winehouse perform at this year’s Grammy Awards; however, her request for a visa was turned down by the U.S. Embassy, her publicist said on February 7. The 24-year-old singer and her acclaimed Back to Black album were nominated for six Grammy categories. A spokesperson for Winehouse said: “Amy has been progressing well since entering a rehabilitation clinic two weeks ago and although disappointed with the decision has accepted the ruling and will be concentrating on her recovery.” Even if the decision was reversed by the U.S. Embassy it would have been too late for her to fly and rehearse. Amy performed via satellite.
The new season of ABC’s popular celebrity ballroom dance competition Dancing with the Stars debuts on March 17 and ABC is expected to release the names of the contestants very soon. Of course, the buzz has begun to circulate in show business circles and on the Internet that this season’s participants will be stars from the 1970s. The fueled fan speculation of the sixth edition of Dancing with the Stars has Cheryl Ladd, Priscilla Presley, Donny Osmond, Florence Henderson, Kristy McNichol, Kristi Yamaguchi, and Marla Maples rumored to samba onto the show. If the 62-year-old ex-wife of Elvis Presley joins Dancing with the Stars sixth season cast, she would be the oldest female celebrity to compete on the ABC reality series. In the 2007 fifth season of the show, actress Jane Seymour was 56-years-old when she participated.
Rose’s Scoop: With the possible settlement of the crippling, three-month-old Hollywood writers strike coming to an end soon, both sides are under pressure to make a deal in time for the Academy Awards, which are scheduled for February 24. Get this, Chase Crawford, the 22-year-old who plays Nate Archibald on CW’s Gossip Girl , says he loves it when a girl sings Guns N’ Roses.
