HOLLYWOOD—The race is on for the holiday shopping. Once again the holidays are officially here. It's time to load up your cart and make it across the finish line. Bargain-hunters venture out looking for great deals from flat-screen TV's to cameras. Black Friday is now over and the day after Thanksgiving officially kicks the holiday shopping season. Consumers are still buying and charging on their credit cards creating even more debt. We realize that standing outside in the cold may be tradition and for the last couple of years stores have been interrupting family dinners to get the consumers to go out and buy on Thanksgiving. The hunt for the bargains can turn the most polite-best intentioned individual into a Black Friday savage. Absolutely, no excuse for this unacceptable, rude behavior.
The holidays are my favorite time of year when we gather with our families and friends to celebrate the joy of giving and to take a moment to be grateful for all our blessings. The hottest ticket around is for the global superstar and successful band, One Direction. They will be playing at Madison Square Garden on December 3, in New York City. They are the five hardworking members of Britain’s boy band, that have toured Australia, Ireland, New Zealand and the USA. Once again, we have to hand it to the Brits, they did it again. They are worth an estimated whopping $42 million with a great possibility of having it doubled by 2013. Simon Cowell once again, strikes gold. Cowell formed the group back in 2010 on Britain’s X-Factor, their first album, "Up All Night," debuted at No. 1 in the U.S. No other group, even the Beatles or Rolling Stones ever accomplished. The group which includes Harry, Zayn, Liam, Niall and Louis have proven they're more than just a boy band. They continue to retain a refreshing mix of charisma and charm despite their major success. If you don't want to spend a cool thousand for last minute tickets plus airfare, just buy the next best thing their video and photo cards collection.
The holidays are just around the corner and your to buy list is more packed than Santa's sleigh. There are basically two types of people during the holiday season. The organized ones like Kim Kardashian, that is all done and just waiting to get her color theme for wrapping the gifts. The ones like Kim can take advantage of this holiday season by listening to holiday CDs. Then there are those who focus on the holiday parties, so they are so ready to kick off their shoes and relax. Then you have the other type, the last-minute-stressed shopper that are suffering from panic attacks and anxiety. You'll spot them, they are the ones that drive aggressively. The ones that are mad at the world, that take their frustrations on poor innocent victims. They are just plain grumpy. Whether you are the last-minute shopper or the Kim Kardashian organized shopper, you need to take some time out to enjoy some of the Christmas holiday DVDs or turn up the music this holiday season.
Consumers continue to buy, whether they're in denial or just racking up the credit cards. You would think they're giving things away at the malls and stores. With so many people tightening their belts this holiday season many people are turning to homemade baked goods and crafts. Sometimes the simplest and ultimate, thriftiest Christmas gifts are the best ones to give family and friends.
Rose’s Scoop: The perfect movie to kick off the holiday season is "The Rise of the Guardians," which employs five guardians of children-The Easter Bunny, the Sandman, Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy and Jack Frost.
