Come hang out at the Cornfield, the 30 acre living art exhibit just north of Chinatown and south of Lincoln Heights. Featuring electronica music by “The Aliens.” Kids welcome. Free admission.

West Hollywood Halloween Carnival

Check out the Halloween celebration that is now one of the country’s biggest costume parties! All imaginable characters will wander the streets, including aliens, drag queens, super heroes, monsters, ghouls, ghosts, and goblins! Past performers have included Margaret Cho, Debbie Allen and Bruce Vilanch.

LONG BEACH

Haute Dog Howl’oween Parade and Adoption Fair

Oct 30, 10:00AM-4:00PM, Livingston Park, Long Beach.

Costume-wearing dogs of all spots and stripes strut their stuff through the Belmont Shore. Nearly 450 canines march through Second Street and participate in such activities as “yappy hour” and “bobbing for weenies.” Other events include contests for best kissing, tail wagging, and barking, plus a canine/master look-alike contest. $10 donation goes to nonprofit animal charities.

Hard-core heavy metal artists Judas Priest, Rob Zombie and Anthrax help Halloween head bangers have a rocking good time. Wearing leather is encouraged, but leave your bags of candy at home. Tickets $35-$55.
