"Days Of Our Lives" wins for Outstanding Drama Series.
BEVERLY HILLS—The 40th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards were handed out on Sunday, June 16 live from the famed Beverly Hilton Hotel.  The big winner of the night was the soap “Days of Our Lives” which took home the award for Outstanding Daytime Drama series.  It was the first time the soap won the award in more than 40 years; that’s a triumph, as the only remaining NBC melodrama that unseated “The Bold and the Beautiful.”

The ceremony was hosted by Robin Meade, Sam Campion and AJ Hammer on HNL. It was a painful ceremony to watch sometimes which forced me to change the channel during several moments.  The producers continued to use that same annoying music that they used last year.  Just a note: not everyone can play hostess.  At first I was a bit concerned about other celebs interviewing big winners of the night, but it worked in my opinion.  A list of other winners for the night are below.
