LOS ANGELES—The Game Show Network (GSN) announced actor-comedian DeRay Davis as the host for an upcoming series called “Mind Of A Man” on Wednesday, September 25.
Davis first broke onto the scene at a Laffapalooza Festival in Atlanta, Georgia, where he won the Comedy Central Laugh Riots Competition. He has been seen in movies like “G.I. Joe: Retaliation,” “21 Jump Street” and “Jumping the Broom” as well as his current one-hour comedy show, “DeRay Davis: Power Play.” Davis also does voice-acting for “The Boondocks” and “Black Dynamite.”
“Considering the number of times women have asked me, ”˜DeRay, what were you thinking?,’ I am definitely the right guy to host ”˜Mind Of A Man,’” Davis said in a statement. “I’m very excited to be part of this show and really look forward to sharing my crazy experiences and learning as much as the contestants do,” he added.
Davis will host the new half-hour show, in which two female contestants try to figure out what men really think about things like dating, marriage and working, according to the release. During three rounds, the contestants will answer the questions with the help of a male and female celebrity panel, who will offer their opinions on what men are really thinking. The contestant that most successfully gets into the “mind of a man” will walk away with the grand prize.
GSN has ordered 40 episodes for the series, which is set to premiere in 2014.
