HOLLYWOOD—It was announced on Thursday, August 22, that Demi Lovato will be guest starring on several episodes for season five of FOX's "Glee."

The 20-year-old "X Factor" judge is rumored to play Dani, a struggling artist in New York who is friends with Rachel (Lea Michele) and Santana (Naya Rivera).
It is reported that Lovato's character will be introduced in the second part of The Beatles' tribute episode, which will air October 3.

“Such amazing news that two of my very best friends are going to be on #Glee this year! @ddlovato & @PhoebeStrole! Thank you @MrRPMurphy,” tweeted Michele.

Other celebrities that are officially joining the cast this season include former "American Idol" contestant and singer, Adam Lambert, and Phoebe Strole, who shared the stage on Broadway with Michele in "Spring Awakenings."

Additionally, it has been reported that there will be a tribute episode for Corey Monteith's character, Finn, which will air on October 10. Monteith died on July 13 at the Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel in Vancouver, Canada at the age of 31 due to an overdose of heroin. Thus, "Glee" writers had to reconstruct the upcoming story lines and the season premiere date was pushed back.

"Glee" creator Ryan Murphy has stated the cause of Finn's death will not be revealed. However, the episode will begin with the news of his death followed by the reaction from his peers. It is rumored that Michele's character does not make an appearance until the end of the episode.

"Just read Cory Monteith memorial episode," tweeted Jane Lynch on Wednesday, August 21. "Most beautiful thing. Thank you, @MrRPMurphy @BFalchuk Ian Brennan."

The first episode of season five will air on Thursday, September 26 on FOX.
