“Glee” Returning For Two More Seasons
Posted by LaDale Anderson on Apr 24, 2013 - 6:45:25 PM

HOLLYWOOD—In an interesting turn of events, Fox’s musical dramedy “Glee” is expected to return for a fifth and sixth season.  The news was announced last week, leaving viewers and fans only guessing what they can expect for some of their favs from McKinley High.  It’s surprising to hear the news as the fourth season of the series hasn’t had the strongest outing with viewers.  The loss of staple characters and introduction of new members of the glee club has been all over the place.

“Glee debuted as the first and only successful musical comedy series on television, and more than four years later, it continues to defy genres, break new ground and have a significant impact on popular culture,” said Fox entertainment chairman Kevin Reilly. “Week in and week out, Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, Ian Brennan, Dante DiLoreto and the entire Glee team deliver a series that not only delights and surprises fans, but also inspires them to talk about, share, debate and engage with the show ”“ and I’m absolutely thrilled to have them on board for another two seasons.”

"Glee" has been renewed for two more seasons.

The recent episode involving a school shooting was indeed a tense episode of the series by far.  I was indeed glued to my couch watching the drama unfold, but that is just one episode that has stood out this season. The series transition from Lima, Ohio to New York is forcing the audience to choose which characters we want to connect with.

Are we rooting for Rachel (Lea Michele) and Kurt (Chris Colfer) or Blaine (Darren Criss), Brittany (Heather Morris), Marley (Marisa Benoit) and the rest of the McKinley gang?  It’s hard to decide.  What made “Glee” such a guilty pleasure its first season was its ability to be unlike anything seen on the small screen.  Each episode was a must-see and progressively got better.  With our core characters no longer in high school, the writers are a bit lost as what to do with them.

We already know Sam, Brittany, Blaine and Tina will all be graduating this year, which leaves another void for the glee club, so will the kids be forced to replace lost members again?  And what about the trials and tribulations of Rachel and Kurt chasing after their dreams in New York, just how long will that drama keep our attention? While audiences will not know how the next two seasons will play out, it’s sure to be a fun ride with the characters that audiences have grown to love. “Glee” airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. on FOX.
