'Hung's' 'Mister Drecker' Left Viewers Elated
Posted by Contributor on Oct 17, 2011 - 8:04:24 PM

HOLLYWOOD—Last night on the HBO comedy series “Hung,” titled “Mister Drecker” or “Ease Up on the Whup-Ass,” Ray continued to compete against a younger version of his hung self, and he also ran into a beautiful and sexy former female student, who wanted an “A” after flunking his class a few years back.

Ray continued to fear he’d blown his cover when he mistakenly approached his former student, thinking that she was his paying client, that he was told by Tanya to meet. The student was very cagey with Ray, but figured out the reason he was being so forward was that he was a gigolo. Fearing that she would not keep his secret, he continued to pursue her after the initial meeting to see if his secret was safe with her.

Tanya found herself in charge of a felon, in her one-time lover and mentor Charlie, who decided to ditch his court-ordered ankle bracelet and to go out after curfew to have a late night snack. However, as Tanya showed up and was chastising Charlie, in came a female cop, who is also one of Tanya and Ray’s clients, and trouble soon ensued.

Jessica was hired to work in the office of Dr. Matt Kopylov (Matt Walsh), the husband of Ronnie’s (Eddie Jemison) mistress. But Jessica may have another plan now that she’s in proximity with her nemesis’s own husband. What will she do next? Well, as for Ray, he showed up at his former student’s door, and lets just say, the final scene was hilarious in her former teacher’s car, when the show ended with the ecstatic young lady saying, “Mr. Drecker, I knew it!”

However, Ray’s problems are just beginning, because Lenore brokered a deal with Sandee (Analeigh Tipton), making way for her to beat Ray at his own game. The show was so well written and acted last night. It’s exciting to see “Hung” going back to its roots, of great writing, less dreary reality talking about the Detroit economy and getting back to the basics; love, sex and cliffhangers.

The episode was written by Eduardo Machado and Drew Lindo, while it was directed by Gloria Muzio.

“Hung” airs on Sunday nights on HBO at 10 p.m.
