Lane Garrison Makes A Difference

BEVERLY HILLS—Lane Garrison is in a real life horror film.  That's what he recently told Canyon News: "I wake up every morning to a real life horror movie.  Don't take your freedom for granted."  Garrison also added, "I am trying to make a difference here. I am in the middle of writing a book about my prison experiences; I am also trying to keep other people's families upbeat about the incarceration of their loved ones. I have been writing other inmates' families and doing my part to make a difference here." 

Garrison also leads prayer meetings and receives hundreds of letters each week, and is making an effort to respond to all of them.  "I am really touched by how many fans I have and I now realize that I took it all for granted. I hope that I can make a difference in the lives of young people when I get out of here and can also finish my book by then and tell the stories from inside these walls."

Garrison shot to fame when he starred in Prison Break on FOX and was devastated when it all came to an end last year.  Garrison along with three underage riders he'd picked up were drinking when he had a horrific crash in Beverly Hills. The crash ended the life of one of his passengers.  Garrison hired a high price lawyer, but immediately took responsibility for his actions.  He was sentenced and is up for release in May of 2009. 

Fans have been petitioning the Governor's office to ask for an early release.  It's highly doubtful that he will be released early, and Garrison chose not to talk about anything regarding the petition.   He is however, very grateful to his fans and is sorry for the pain he's caused the victims' families and his own.  The budding star has a great future in Hollywood, the town that forgives when someone takes responsibility for their actions. 

Until then, Garrison adds, "I just want to stay out of trouble in here and hopefully get out alive, safe, and healthy."
