HOLLYWOOD—This week’s Leading Men Gold Standard goes to two handsome and talented actors, who portrayed men who were having a change of heart over the course of a loving relationship, but also they showed the rare quality of happiness in soap characters last week. Brandon Beemer, who portrays Owen on CBS’s “The Bold and the Beautiful” and Michael Muhney, who portrays Adam Newman on CBS’s “The Young and the Restless” found the women they loved in very poignant emotional states, but that’s the nature of soap opera land!
Brandon Beemer has been heating up the screen on E’s “Dirty Soap,” the new reality series based on the lives of several soap stars, that include couples, one time friends and a few other surprising turn of events headed your way. However, as Owen Knight on CBS’s “B&B” Beemer plays opposite super-sexy cougar Lesley Anne Down, as Jackie. Last week Owen was sent by his wife Jackie to visit his son Logan, who was on vacation with mom Bridget. Owen was ecstatic to spend time with his son, and surely he enjoys our sweet Bridget’s company as well. However, viewers can see a side of Jackie, that is determined to do the right thing and ensure her husband remains a positive and dominant role in his young son’s life.
Owen probably is the last person who will realize what Jackie’s up to, but it sure was fun to see Brandon with a wide smile on his face playing daddy duty on “B&B.”

Then there is consummate professional actor Michael Muhney, who is the ever evil, conniving and despicable Adam on “Y&R.” Last week Adam had a change of heart and went to visit his ex-wife Sharon, who is in prison for murdering another of his ex’s, Skye Lockhart. However, is Adam’s latest behavior caused by guilt or is it cause for Sharon to be alarmed at his latest newfound interest in her case?
Whatever may come, Muhney is prepared to play it. As he’s become one of daytime television’s most bankable actors. Don’t miss these two guys this coming week on their soaps. As Owen continues to bond with his son, and Adam puts a knife in yet another ex’s back, this time Heather’s!
“Y&R” and “B&B” air weekdays on CBS.
