“Pretty Little Liars” Recap: ‘Run, Ali, Run’
Posted by LaDale Anderson on Jul 15, 2014 - 7:06:10 PM

Ali (Sasha Pieterse) decided leaving Rosewood again would be a smart idea.
HOLLYWOOD—“A” made his/her triumphant return in last week’s episode sending the liars the message that the game is still on. In episode six, “Run, Ali, Run” Alison (Sasha Pieterse) and the other liars learned that lives are still in the midst of being destroyed, at the hands of their nemesis. So just why did “A” blow-up Toby’s (Keegan Allen) house? Was “A” after Jenna (Tammin Sursok) or Toby himself? “Did you miss me bitches,” signed sincerely A.

Spencer (Troian Bellisario), Aria (Lucy Hale), Emily (Shay Mitchell) and Hanna (Ashley Benson) all theorized just why “A” decided to take a leave of absence before suddenly re-emerging. Caleb wanted Hanna to come forward to the authorities on their current predicament. Ezra (Ian Harding) decided to do research connecting Bethany Young and Mrs. DiLaurentis.

He suspects that “A” may have murdered Mrs. D and the mysterious Bethany Young. The bigger question is just why? Mr. Hastings (Nolan North) confronted Spencer about the fracturing family dynamic. He was adamant that he didn’t kill Mrs. D., but admitted that Melissa and her father went to the lake to ‘talk;’ that’s code for something big.

Aria was a bit coy about her reconciliation between her former teacher, just as Ali received a video from “A” showing her mother being buried alive. “I buried your mom, the same way I watched her bury you,” A. Wow, this villain has no remorse for the liars of Rosewood. Spencer admitted to the ladies that she suspected her father of killing Mrs. D, but they realized there is more to the story, which forced Ali to question her safety.

Hmm, great dialogue from Spencer, “Even if you could run, where would you hide?” That prompted the wise liar to venture into Radley, where she came face-to-face with Eddie Lamb again. He admitted he couldn’t discuss details of any patient, as she did her best to get information on Bethany Young, while being watched on camera. Hanna spied Ali making a phone call to a mysterious party without revealing who. Lt. Tanner paid Mr. Fitz a visit, which prompted Aria to hide, just as she delivered a package. She inquired about the possibility that Mr. Fitz was aware that Shana was his attacker. That woman is good at getting a read on people.

Emily demanded for Paige (Lindsey Shaw) to give her the names of the people who are forming an army against Alison. It almost caused Paige to realize the game that she is playing is more dangerous than she suspects.  Spencer orchestrated a meet and greet with her parents to get them to discuss their problems. That person Ali was talking to was Noel! Not much of a surprise now that I think about it. Hanna was all-in on the plan to help Ali vanish, which made me suspect Hanna wanted her friend out of town for her own personal reasons.

Ezra received a picture that looked like Mrs. DiLaurentis and a mysterious creature (the photo was signed by Bethany). He decided to view his security cameras to get the goods on the person. Emily dropped a bomb on Hanna that Lucas (Brendon Robinson) and Melissa is working with Mona against Ali. Paige received a dead rat in her locker, which means Mona knows about her loose lips.

While Ali decided to pick up a few things from her house, an elusive party snuck inside the residence.  While in her bedroom she took some funds and some identification cards, but not before “A” nearly choked Ali to death, but Emily came to her rescue giving the elusive party one hell of a fight. Emily is definitely a beast when it comes to protecting the ones that she loves. Ali was adamant about not informing the police that she was attacked, which prompted Emily to ensure her BFF was not leaving town.

Aria begged Ezra to admit to authorities that Shana shot him; they caught a glimpse of Eddie Lamb dropping off the package at his residence. Ezra admitted he spoke to Eddie Lamb during his interview. Ali alerted Spencer and Aria that Melissa and Lucas are working with Emily and could be responsible for her attack. It became apparent that it was “A” who attacked Alison, and called her bluff about leaving town. Whoa, does “A” want Ali dead or alive, I’m so confused at this point.

Veronica took a call from Peter, asking about when they were returning home, but dropped a bombshell on her daughter that her dad is moving out of the home. She admitted her husband has been lying for years and she’s fed up with things. Seems like the relationship between Travis and Hanna is on a downward spiral, he admitted he’s aware that Caleb is back in the mix. Aria decided to volunteer at Radley to get the goods on Ms. Young.  Emily and Ali were surprised to find Lt. Tanner stopping by the residence to inquire about the whereabouts of the ladies the night Shana died.

“A” decided to send one more threat to Ali with the message, “Time for the caged bird to sing,” A. The final moments saw a flower bouquet with the message “My Deepest Condolences” to be sent to the family of Bethany Young by “A.” We haven’t seen this elusive party since the season four premiere, but ‘The Lady in Black’ made her wicked return back to Rosewood. That is indeed an important clue, because this elusive party is the endgame for the series. That means “A” being a guy is definitely out of the mix. Next Tuesday is going to be good “PLL” fanatics!
