“Pretty Little Liars” Recap: ”˜The Mirror Has”¦.
Posted by LaDale Anderson on Aug 13, 2013 - 6:18:57 PM

HOLLYWOOD—With only two episodes left until the “PLL” summer finale, what secrets were unearthed on episode 10 ”˜The Mirror Has Three Faces?’ For starters, the audience was treated to more Mrs. DiLaurentis who hasn’t been seen on the canvas in quite some time.  Why the sudden reappearance? Well she wanted Ali’s BFF, Emily (Shay Mitchell) to stay at the DiLaurentis house, particularly in Alison’s bedroom! Say what!

Hanna (Ashley Benson), Spencer (Troian Bellisario), Aria (Lucy Hale) and Emily speculated the new information that was learned about CeCe Drake (Vanessa Ray) thanks to Shana (Ariel Miranda).  Hanna thought it was a great idea for Emily to stay at the DiLaurentis home to gather information on CeCe.  Spencer made small talk with Mr. Fitz (Ian Harding); it was obvious that something was off about Aria’s former boyfriend.  Hanna played catch-up with Caleb (Tyler Blackburn) about a physical address in Philadelphia.  Hanna begged Caleb to sneak her into Radley to visit Mona. “Mona is not the enemy anymore,” shouted Hanna.  “You don’t know that,” screamed Caleb.  He might have a point.

What a surprise Wren (Julian Morris) is back in the picture, where has he been?  Who cares, why is he counseling Mona (Janel Parrish) inside Radley?  He deciphered into Mona’s psyche about admitting to Wilden’s murder.  Wren appears certain that Mona did not kill Wilden, just as Mona questioned Wren about his loyalty.  She knows that he’s been keeping secrets. The tension between these two is difficult to describe in words.  Toby (Keegan Allen) received the package from “A” containing the sheet music played in the previous episode.

Ezra gives Maggie the third degree about Malcolm.

Emily was unnerved about staying in Ali’s old bedroom, but Spencer eased her concerns. Its obvious Mrs. DiLaurentis is still grappling with Ali’s death, which means it would be difficult for her to react in such a way if her daughter happened to be alive. Hanna paid Wren a visit to chat about seeing Mona, but he was apprehensive about the idea. He was off-edge about questions pertaining to CeCe and dropped a bomb about a blonde trying to see Mona the night before; it wasn’t Hanna!  He made a phone call indicating that he’s working with someone.  “Leave the lamb alone and go for the lion,” ”˜A.’ Exactly what is ”˜A’ implying for Toby to do?

Emily roamed around the DiLaurentis home as she was spied on from a distance, and discovered that Mrs. D is in the midst of a divorce. She unveiled to Emily that she spotted a woman in the park that reminded her of Ali, I think “Red Coat” has been playing with everyone’s emotions.

Ezra dropped a bomb on Maggie that he knows that Malcolm is not his son!  I pegged that theory last week.  This means there’s hope for Ezria after all. Hanna caught Caleb visiting Mrs. Hastings office to protect her from “A” which caused a rift between the couple.  It’s obvious this relationship will soon be dead in the water. Surprise, surprise, Wren was there watching the whole thing.  Wren paid Mrs. Hastings a visit and received a tongue lashing from mama bear. He attempted to convince Mrs. Hastings that Mona is a danger to the liars; it wasn’t as convincing as the audience should expect.

Hanna, Caleb and Spencer discuss more details about Alison.

Aria began her quest to locate the residence in Philly that Caleb gave to Hanna. She met a female who was acquaintances with CeCe and Alison. She was well aware of Aria and the rest of Ali’s best friends.  I think we have a motive.  Ali was responsible for getting CeCe kicked out and she suspected that all of the liars were involved.  Hanna stopped by the DiLaurentis house, just as “Red Coat” was sneaking inside unknowingly. Hanna discovered a music box where ”˜Red Coat’ was seen in the background wearing an Alison mask. Spencer and Toby paid Dr. Palmer a visit and it appeared the song had a profound effect on his memory where Spencer attempted to get the goods on the mysterious blonde girl.

Mrs. Hastings paid Mona a visit to chat about a few things and made a few threats. Mrs. Hastings should be careful, I’m certain Mona has some secrets on her that she would not want exposed to the rest of the world.  Aria ignored a very important call from Ezra that could change everything for the former flames. Spencer suspects that Ali’s mom visited Radley at some point and she asked her about Dr. Palmer.  She became quite defensive.  A flashback revealed Alison and her mother having a huge blowout, and discussed “the two of you braiding your hair.”  Wait a second is CeCe perhaps Alison’s mysterious sibling? Things just got really weird.  She acknowledged that CeCe and Alison shared personalities; they were much closer than we know.

Hanna was dealt a fatal blow when she learned that Mrs. Hastings has to step aside as Ashley’s lawyer, I have a feeling Wren had something to do with this.  Hanna lashed out at everyone about her mom’s situation.  Wren held a conversation with someone where he revealed what he had done, just as he drew a picture of a lady dressed in a “Red Coat.”  Emily and Mrs. DiLaurentis went investigating in the basement where they discovered someone was hiding out.  Emily spotted several holes which looked as if someone was spying on Mrs. DiLaurentis.

The final episode saw “A” recovering a pair of muddy high heels and several images of Emily and her father in a damaged home, I suspect it to be Emily’s house. Looks like “A” wants to frame Emily for Wilden’s murder.  Next week will be the penultimate episode before the finale, what other bombshells will we discover?  Until next week “PLL” fanatics!
