“Revenge” Recap: ‘Addiction’
Posted by LaDale Anderson on Mar 31, 2014 - 3:20:15 PM

HOLLYWOOD—Oh, what a surprise Sunday night’s episode of “Revenge” turned out to be.  Episode 17 “Addiction” was more a tale of a gamble to see who would make the first move in the war between the Grayson’s and Emily Thorne. Victoria (Madeleine Stowe) was none too pleased to see Pascal continue to vie for her affections, just as Emily recalled happier times with Aiden (Barry Sloane).  Nolan (Gabriel Mann) and Emily (Emily VanCamp) did their best to try to discover what “TWM” meant.

Daniel (Joshua Bowman) attempted to get Charlotte (Christa B. Allen) in his quest for vengeance by going after Emily’s friends.  She made it crystal clear that Jack (Nick Wechsler) was off limits; I wonder just how deep into this wickedness Charlotte will engage in. Stevie (Gail O’Grady) did her best to reason with Jack about a Conrad who wasn’t always a bad guy.

Which rubbed her son the wrong way; it’s not a good idea to praise the guy who was responsible for the death of your son’s wife and brother. Emily did her best to acquaint herself with Pascal to get the goods on the secrets that he may be holding. Margaux (Karine Vanasse) shared with Jack the happy news about a promotion she was offered as Editor-in-Chief at a major company. He was willing to allow his new love to spread her wings, in his attempt to keep her safe.

Emily (Emily VanCamp) took a big gamble in Sunday's episode.

Emily was surprised to come face-to-face with Nolan’s newest houseguest, Javier. He developed a program that could perhaps be beneficial to his endgame. Daniel was none too pleased to hear of Margaux’s attempt to leave Voulouz to chase after her dream. He did his best to manipulate Margaux into thinking that a dalliance is in play between Emily and Jack.

Pascal is still a mysterious character, who Stevie acknowledged Pascal dated Victoria before her marriage to Conrad. She was unable to disclose the details of what transpired between the Queen Bee and her former flame. Jack was a bit thrown back by the revelation that Emily and Aiden were no longer an item. It appears the two lovers who were torn apart are indeed being brought back together, just as Margaux spotted a tender moment between the two ‘friends.’

Victoria informed Daniel that she met Pascal years ago when she was in Paris, just as Daniel and Emily decided it was time to gain an edge; that woman will do just about anything to get what she desires most, even engaging in a rouse with a  man that she cares nothing about. It appears Pascal and Victoria are working alongside each other to allow Emily to get close to Pascal to see just what she was after. It appears Vicky is a bit rattled by Emily’s continued interest in her family.

Oh yes Victoria, you’re harboring some deep dark secrets and Emily is a pro and getting at the truth.  Jeez, I can’t WAIT for this one to discover the identity of who ‘Emily Thorne’ really is. The look on her face will be beyond priceless, it will be, I can’t even think of a word. The final moments saw Emily and Nolan, almost giving up on finding out what ‘TWM’ stands for, but not before Aiden returned to the mix. He dropped the biggest bomb of all indicating that ‘TWM’ stands for the initials to his father’s name, Trevor Warren Mathias. Whoa, just how in the world is Aiden’s father entangled in this crazed mess? Stay tuned “Revenge” lovers, next Sunday the mystery gets more complicated!
