HOLLYWOOD—“Well its true.  Even the Devil himself didn’t want you,” stated a shocked Conrad (Henry Czerny) as he confronted his back from the dead ex-wife Victoria (Madeleine Stowe). Another terrific line from the salacious drama that is known as “Revenge.”  The second episode “Resurrection” delivered just as many surprises as the first episode.  I thought at first that it should have been titled “Twisted” with all of the surprises that kept the audience glued to the couch.

The episode opened with Emily (Emily VanCamp) recalling memories of spending time with her mother; it turns out she was dreaming and Nolan (Gabriel Mann) found himself caught in Emily’s clutches for surprising her.  The duplicitous Victoria continued to navigate her plan to leave the country with Charlotte (Christa B. Allen), but who would have expected her to be so devious.

Amanda admitted to Emily that she had a one night stand when she disappeared, but she still thinks the baby is Jack’s.  The audience had to be aware that something wasn’t right when Emily asked for her assistance.  Either she was planning to fix the paternity results or she had something else up her sleeve.  As it turns out, the piece of paper revealed that the baby was indeed Jack’s, but when Amanda asked for confirmation from Emily she discovered that it was not; but there’s more, Emily lied.  The baby is indeed Jack’s the only problem is Amanda doesn’t know that!

Charlotte was released from rehab thanks to the assistance of her sister, Emily and brother Daniel (Josh Bowman). It’s so frustrating to see the fracturing of the relationship between Ashley and Daniel.  She is so into him, yet Daniel could care less about the beauty next to him as he still has Emily on the brain.  Emily is a master manipulator as she planted the seed in Charlotte’s mind that she could stay at her house if she liked, and revealed that her “sister” Amanda is pregnant.  Its obvious Emily is yearning to have a relationship with her sister.

Victoria Grayson (Madeleine Stowe) conjures a clever plan.

Nolan was being forced to make a decision about appointing a CFO for his company, which he was clearly against.  Victoria and Conrad put a plan in place to “resurrect” Victoria from the dead; the only problem is it involved Conrad placing a physical beating on his wife at her request.  Just as the White-Haired Man arrived to finish off Victoria for double crossing him, she called his bluff making it look like she had been kidnapped by him.   There’s just one problem neither of them knew that Emily caught the whole incident on camera and was planning to bargain with the man responsible for killing her father.

Daniel got the shock of his life when his mother walked through the door.  It was almost as if he was relieved, yet hoping his mother was still six feet under. Victoria’s rebirth allowed Conrad to cover up his shenanigans with Grayson Global by admitting he had to use Charlotte’s inheritance money to pay off Victoria’s captor; Daniel being as gullible as he is bought the story.

I’m still trying to figure out why Kyle was so anxious to befriend Declan; as it turns out he wanted Declan to hold an expensive piece of jewelry for him and he was willing to pay cash if he did.  His reasoning behind it just didn’t add up and I have a feeling this is one decision Declan is going to regret making.   As Emily watched the video of Conrad beating up Victoria, the White-Haired Man arrived as she questioned him about the whereabouts of her mother.  He admitted her mother could have proven David Clarke’s innocence, which depicts a flashback showing Victoria and the White-Haired Man helping Emily’s mother escape the mental hospital.

Just as Emily was about to get the answers she wanted, the White-Haired Man attacked her and was just mere moments from killing her, when Takeda’s protégé arrived shooting him dead.  To say Emily was stunned to see him would be an understatement.  She now realizes that the only person who can help her find her mother is her worst enemy, Victoria Grayson.  Good luck on getting that woman to reveal her deepest darkest secrets.  Until next Sunday “Revenge” lovers!
