“Revenge” Recap: ”˜Sin”™
Posted by LaDale Anderson on Oct 7, 2013 - 7:42:54 AM

HOLLYWOOD—Last week’s episode of “Revenge” ended on a cliffhanger, with the return of Aiden (Barry Sloane) hoping to work alongside Victoria (Madeleine Stowe) to take down Emily (Emily VanCamp). ”˜Sin’ picked up precisely after its predecessor with Aiden and Victoria on a yacht discussing their latest plan. Aiden used his knowledge of Emily and David Clarke to build trust in his vendetta; I can only wonder how Emily will respond when she discovers Aiden’s duplicity.

It appeared Emily was a bit jealous of the burgeoning relationship between Margaux and Daniel (Josh Bowman).  Charlotte (Christa B. Allen) showed some fatherly love to Conrad (Henry Czerny) in his time of need, just as Emily’s latest plan involved her taking down a priest. Hmmm, that’s quite the challenge to go after a foe with such a powerful entity behind it. The guilt behind David Clarke’s death haunted Father Paul, who has appeared to do good in the community for his sins.

Charlotte was a bit lost when she stopped by Jack’s (Nick Wechsler) place to see Carl; he was a bit torn about revealing to his dead brother’s fiancé that Carl is not bound by blood to her.  I wonder how the deception will impact Charlotte when all of the secrets come out. Margaux was overtly friendly with Daniel, during his dinner date with Emily. It appears these old pals have feelings that are waiting to surface.

Emily Thorne (Emily VanCamp) continues her quest for revenge.

Emily was not too pleased to see a division between her and Charlotte who has no idea of the truth; it appears Emily’s quest for vengeance is slowly ripping apart her relationships with all the people that she loves. Nolan (Gabriel Mann) tried to reason with Emily about taking down Father Paul who has done quite a bit of good.  Could it be possible that our heroine is growing a conscience? Not likely.

Victoria played a terrific ”˜poker face’ with Emily when she stopped by; I can only imagine the look on Emily’s face when she discovers Victoria’s latest plan.  Jack sparred with Emily about her continued deception to her only sister. Margaux was impressed with Daniel’s skills, so much so that she seduced her new business partner; I wonder how his fiancé will feel about this. Nolan was none too pleased to see Victoria stop by his place to make threats about her missing millions, particularly a painting that she had to sell.

A Grayson gathering wouldn’t be a gathering without a bit of bickering, and surprise, the Queen Bee decided to introduce her long-lost son, Patrick, to the family.  It appeared only Daniel was shocked by the news. Aiden broke into Emily’s place searching for evidence to help take down his former lover; smart move by Emily to move her belongings to a safe place. She continued her ruse to keep Conrad sick and Patrick convinced the family of his true intentions, but not before Conrad dropped a bombshell on Patrick about Victoria’s involvement to keep her son away.

Nolan updated Emily on his latest plan to keep her secrets hidden from all, and was beyond horrified to discover his betrayal.  She is indeed digging a deep grave with everyone who cares about her. Conrad was not too pleased to learn that Charlotte knew he was the culprit beyond the bomb explosion at Grayson Global that claimed the life of Declan. It appeared the words of wise ones had no effect on Emily’s plan to continue to take down those who took from her father.

She was touched by Father Paul’s words to help her grieve over the loss of her father and the planning of the wedding. Well, well, Daniel turned down Margaux’s advances, but I’m certain she will attempt to seduce the boy toy in coming weeks.  Emily did indeed have a change of heart about Father Paul after seeing his helping hand in the community, but it was already too late.  Her plan to recount her actions had already been implemented.  Aiden warned Victoria not to betray him; just as he gave her evidence that Emily purchased the home that belonged to Nolan.

I am a bit worried of what transgressions our heroine will endure this season; things do not look good. It was indeed a bit of a bonding moment for Emily and Conrad, as they spent time in the Church, “We reap what we sew,” quoted a wise Emily. Could it be that Conrad is finally willing to confess his sins of the past? The evil mastermind is indeed acknowledging his sins, thanks to Emily’s latest plan.  Emily confessed to Nolan that she will right her wrong against Father Paul as she believes he is the only person who can get Conrad to confess to all of his actions.  Interesting! Next week is a must-see as Emily comes face-to-face with Aiden, until next Sunday “Revenge” lovers!
