“True Blood” Recap: ”˜Life Matters”™
Posted by LaDale Anderson on Aug 13, 2013 - 5:42:30 AM

HOLLYWOOD—With only one episode left until the climatic season six finale, “True Blood” had its penultimate episode ”˜Life Matters,’ which saw Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) go on a killing spree. Sookie (Anna Paquin) and Bill (Stephen Moyer) were enraged with the condition of Warlow (Rob Kazinsky).  Bill was hell bent on having what he wanted and even threatened his former lover’s life, but not before she used her light to banish him.

The residents of Bon Temps showed up to support Arlene (Carrie Preston) to pay their respects to Terry (Todd Lowe).  Sookie showed up to the funeral, as did Sam (Sam Trammell) and Nicole (Jurnee Smollett).  She had a bit of small talk with Hoyt’s mother, right before reacquainting herself with Alcide (Joe Manganiello). Loved ones took to the podium to share their thoughts about Terry which were quite touching.

Eric literally dismantled all the guards at the vamp camp.  Thanks to Warlow’s blood he can walk in daylight, which didn’t please Bill at all.  The first thing on Eric’s agenda was to rescue vampires trapped inside the facility. Eric rescued Jason (Ryan Kwanten) just in the nic of time as he was being sucked dry by a group of lady vamps. Sarah (Anna Camp) played coy as she attempted to make her escape; looks like the vampires now have the upper hand, just as Eric paid a visit to the facility’s therapist who revealed that he had sex with Pam (Kristin Bauer van Straten) and vowed the doctor would meet his end at Pam’s discretion.

Sarah prayed to the lord for her salvation as she attempted to finish the vampires locked in the white room, but Bill had already showed up, allowing them to drink his blood and protect them from the sunlight.  Unfortunately, the one vampire who was not given salvation was Steve Newlin who Eric allowed to burn in the light, as Sarah watched in horror from above.  Hate to say it, but his character didn’t have much use after Russell bid farewell last season. The vampires basked in the glory as they were allowed to walk in the daylight.  Looks like Warlow’s blood gives the vampires a natural high, but it may have taken a toll on Bill’s psyche.  Is he dead?  It can’t be that easy.

Jason chased after Sarah who attempted escape, as she begged Jason to spare her life.  It indeed worked, as he allowed his former flame to escape with her life. Eric may have done something horrible by allowing the vampires to roam in the daylight.  They then begin to destroy the tainted bottles of true blood, but it was too late. Bottles had already been delivered to Honolulu which the vampires craved. Lilith begged Bill to leave the planet, but he refused.  He summoned his prodigy Jessica (Deborah Ann Woll) and her lover boy who attempted to feed Bill their blood to heal him.

What does this mean for the human race?  With vampires able to roam in the sunlight, what will the humans do to protect themselves?  Pam begged Eric not to leave her, but he chose to vanish!  I’m dying for next week’s finale which I’m certain will bring a few deaths, one or two that are sure to stun viewers.  Until next’s week’s climatic finale “True Blood” lovers!
