Shakespere's Plays Come To Life

SANTA MONICA—Colonials: An American Shakespeare Company will continue its series of Shakespeare’s “The Taming of the Shrew” and “Hamlet” now until mid April.


The Santa-Monica based group that is behind the Colonials: An American Shakespeare Company are known for producing plays from William Shakespeare and their shows include veteran Shakespearean actors who have studied numerous works of the 16th century poet.


The company have previously performed various plays such as “Twelfth Night,” “A Light in the Shadows,” “Excuse for a Swordfight” and much more. Currently, the company is producing “The Taming of the Shrew,” alongside one of his most famous plays, “Hamlet.”

The two plays have been getting popular reviews on their website from audiences, and Tony Award Winner Rae Allen described the company as “such a rich addition to the cultural and entertainment life of LA,” on the website’s feedback page.


The Taming of the Shrew” and “Hamlet” both opened earlier this month and will continue on to April 13 and 14 respectively, on select dates. All shows start at 8:00 p.m. with the exception of Sunday shows, which start at 2:00 p.m.
