BEVERLY HILLS—My name is “Duffy”, and you have no idea how lucky I am to be here!  You see, I was found in the Lancaster desert, where I had been abandoned.  A very kind lady found me and  took me home and bathed me, as I was quite a mess. She kept me until there was room for me here, at the Friends of Animals Foundation, where she knew that I would be well cared for until a loving home could be found for me.

I’m a young poodle mix, and as you can see by my “smiling” tail, I’m very happy to be here. I get along with all of the other dogs that I’ve met, and I get along with kitty cats, too, as I’m not one bit aggressive.  I love going for walks and knowing that there is someone on the other end of the leash that is there to protect me.  Getting tummy rubs makes my day complete!  I know what it means when I’m told to sit and stay, and I’ll be eager to learn other commands, too.  I’m very smart -  really, I am!

I hope that someone will give me a loving home where I won’t have to worry about being deserted again.  So, won’t you come to see me?

Note:  How many of you, besides me, drank water out of the hose when you were a kid?  Well, now they are saying that water that comes out of the hose is dangerous to your health, as most hoses made from PCV contain phthalates, a chemical used to soften plastics.  High amounts of lead were also found in  the hoses’ brass fittings. So, please do not fill your dogs’ water dishes from the hose and, of course, don’t let your children drink from it, either.  For more detailed information about this, check out HealthyStuff.org.
