BEVERLY HILLS—My name is “Mantou”, and you’ve been seeing a lot of little cuddly ones lately, so I thought that you'd like to see a big cuddly one for a change. Yes, I’m cuddly! If you’d let me, I'd love to sleep in bed with you, as that's where I have been used to sleeping. So, what am I doing looking for a new family to live with? Well, a change of jobs and living conditions brought me here, but I really don't understand what those things have to do with giving me up after being part of a family for all of my seven years.

Hi, I Am Mantou!

I was pretty timid and scared when I was first brought into the Friends of Animals Foundation. I didn’t know what to expect. It took me several weeks to come out of my shell, but once I realized that everyone here was so nice and wanted to give me the love that I missed so much, well, now I jump at the chance for my walks and cuddling times.

I have to tell you that I get along with small dogs better than with big ones. Also, I prefer to be in a home with no children or cats. I’m sorry about that, really, I am! I have some separation anxiety, so, if you’re home most of the day, you would be the perfect one for me!

I know that I have a lot of requests, but I want to be honest with you about my personality and likes and dislikes right from the start so that there will be no surprises. That way you can tell if I’d fit in with your life style before we even get started. Oh, I forgot to tell you that I'm a boy, and, yes, I'm housebroken.

By the way, if you’re wondering about my name - as you may not have heard it before - “Mantou” is a Chinese word for a steamed bun/bread that has a smooth and puffed surface and a soft, fluffy texture. So, I suppose that when I was born I must have been soft and fluffy, and now I'm not fluffy anymore, but my coat sure is smooth! So, my guess is, that’s why I was named “Mantou”! I’ve been a combination of soft, fluffy and smooth - and that's why I'm so cuddly!
