BEVERLY HILLS—My little “Pepe” said that he wanted to wish everybody a Happy Halloween! And, he’s also saying, “hurry up and get this costume off of me!”. I adopted him a year ago, after he was turned in twice because of “issues”. Well, "“issues” or not, I wanted to give him a chance, and I am so very glad that I did. He is the most wonderful loving dog that you can imagine. Does he have some faults? Yes. But, so do I, and, don’t we all? So what?
Hi! I Decided It Is Halloween! Ole!
|
I should have called him “Velcro”, because all he wants is to be with me - on my lap, or snuggled next to me, or where he can see me at all times. I’ll give you one guess as to where he is right now. No wonder my back hurts!
He loves to take his walks in the park every day, and can’t wait to see all of his doggie friends. He loves them all, big and small - all three pounds of him! He has such a great personality, and keeps me laughing with his antics. So, all that I can say is that I’m so very lucky and happy to have him in my life. Now, I hope that you will check our website at: foafla.petfinder.com, and find that special pet that will give you as much joy as my little “Pepe” is giving me.
NOTE: A few safety tips for you to remember for your pets on Halloween: Please, please, please, keep all cats indoors! I’m sure that I don’t have to tell you that having them roam outside at any time isn’t safe, but on Halloween it is imperative to keep them inside, especially black cats.
Keep all dogs indoors, also, and not out in the yard. Things can be thrown over the fence and harm them. There are all kinds of pranksters that carry things too far on Halloween.
It's best to keep all pets confined to a separate room during hours that you will be having trick or treaters coming to your house, as your pet can be frightened by the costumes or any noise, and scoot out of the door. It’s best to leave them at home if you are taking children trick or treating, for the same reasons.
Keep all candy and treats of any kind out of reach. Sugarless treats, such as gum, candy or cookies that contain the artificial sweetener xylotol are toxic to them. And, if you insist on putting a costume on your pet (like I do, but for picture purposes only!), be sure that nothing obstructs their vision or makes it difficult to walk, and supervise them at all times.
Don’t forget to check our website to see all of our wonderful dogs and cats that are waiting for loving homes, and then call to make an appointment. We’ll be waiting!
