VI'S CORNER: "SUGAR"

My name is "Sugar", and I guess by my name you would think that I'm a girl - but, no, I'm all boy! I guess I was given that name because I hear everyone say that I'm very sweet!
I've been waiting for a home for quite a while and don't understand why people come to see me and then pass me by and choose one of my buddies. As you can see, I have a happy face and a big smile. Maybe I should put on a sad face so that someone will feel sorry for me. But that's not me. I'm one happy guy!
I'm a Boxer mix and get along just fine with everyone. I'd be a great family dog, although I think that older children would be best, as I'm pretty big and love to play and wouldn't want to accidentally knock a little one over. Then I really would have a sad face.
I love to take walks, play fetch, and would love to just hang out with someone. Could that be you? Why don't you call to make an appointment to see me, that's so easy to do. Then who knows what will happen when we meet. It could even be - as they say - love at first sight! I'll be waiting!
Just a reminder: Please don't even think about surprising someone with a pet for Christmas - or at any time, for that matter. A pet is a living, breathing creature with feelings, and not something such as a piece of clothing or some inanimate object that you can return because you don't care for it. It is a lifetime commitment and has to fit the person's life style. That person is the only one that can make that decision. If you want to help someone, why don't you give that person a card saying that when they adopt a pet you would like to buy some supplies, or help with the adoption fee. That way, everyone, including the pet, will be happy!
