DETROIT—On Wednesday, July 31, the Detroit Pistons announced they have agreed to a sign and trade deal to bring Brandon Jennings to the team. The Pistons are offering the restricted free agent a new three-year contract worth the excess of $25 million.

The Bucks will receive guard Brandon Knight, forward Khris Middleton and center Viacheslav Kravtsov in exchange for Jennings. Jennings considered returning to Milwaukee for another year, which would have made him an unrestricted free agent for next year, but that changed when the Pistons showed serious trade interest.

Detroit has been looking to return to the postseason after a four-year drought and with the talent they have managed to secure this offseason they are in a good place. The Pistons signed Josh Smith, Chauncey Billups and Luigi Datome. They originally picked up Billups to mentor Knight, but instead decided to bring in Jennings.
