CHICAGO— On Wednesday, March 27, the Chicago Bulls put an end to the Miami Heats 27 game win streak. The Bulls beat the heat 101-97 in Chicago to keep Miami from reaching a record 33 win streak.
Lebron James did all he could to ensure the game wouldn’t be lost, but it wasn’t enough James had 32 points, Chris Bosh had 21 points and Dwayne Wade had 18 points for the Miami Heat.
The 27 game win streak stretched back to Super Bowl Sunday after beating the Toronto Raptors before the streak Miami was five and a half games behind San Antonio Spurs for the best record and only half game ahead of the New York Knicks. Now their 12 games over the Knicks and have long been the team with the best record.
The Bulls who have been without their superstar Derrick Rose all season and were even more shorthanded without Richard Hamilton, Joakim Noah and Marco Belinelli.
Luol Deng scored 28 points, Carlos Boozer scored 21 points and had 17 rebounds, but the real reason they won was the contribution of Jimmy Butler starting for Marco Belinelli who scored 17 points and played great defense.
Miami was visibly frustrated after the game they didn’t even congratulate the Bulls. Miami next plays The Hornets in New Orleans on Friday and the Chicago Bulls play The Mavericks in Dallas on Saturday.
