Damian Lillard Rookie Of The Year

UNTED STATES—On Thursday, May 2, the NBA announced Damian Lillard as the NBA Rookie of The Year. Lillard is the starting point guard for the Portland Trailblazers and was the sixth overall pick in the 2012 NBA draft.
He led the NCAA in scoring his final year at
WeberState before declaring for the draft. He also led all the rookies in scoring with 19 points per game along with six assists and three rebounds. The big difference with Damian Lillard and first overall draft pick Anthony Davis was Lillard’s consistency in playing all 82 games this season.
Lillard broke the three-point record with 185 in a single season by a rookie, a record previously set by Stephen Curry. He also finished as the third rookie in NBA history to score 1,500 points and hand out 500 assists. Lillard got all six of the rookie of the month awards for the western conference this season.
He is the fourth player in NBA history to win the award unanimously with 121 first place votes along with Blake Griffin, David Robinson and Ralph Samson. Damian Lillard is also the fourth player in the Portland Trailblazer history to win the award.
