DENVER—The Denver Nuggets Organization lost two key people involved with the team within 1 week. The Nuggets lost Coach of the Year George Karl and Executive of the Year Masai Ujiri.

The team comes off of a club history best season record with 57 wins, but suffered another first round playoff exit. The president of the Nuggets Josh Kroenke wasn’t going to hold Masai Ujiri of his dream job as the General Manager of the Toronto Raptors. Ujiri had given Kroenke a handshake agreement, but would call it off if the Raptors offered him a job, also the first team that gave him a chance at the front office.

George Karl held his position as the head coach for the Denver Nuggets for nine seasons. In each of those nine seasons the Nuggets made the playoffs and had a better than .500 record. Even though they made the playoffs each of those seasons, they only made it past the first round once and that was in 2009.

Denver now begins their search of a new General Manager and a new coach to replace George Karl. Moving forward the Nuggets have great potential with young players such as Ty Lawson, Kenneth Faried, Danilo Gallinari, Andre Iguodala and JaVale McGee.
