LOS ANGELES—On Tuesday, March 5, the Los Angeles Lakers continued to struggle against the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Lakers are looking to make their way into the playoffs after one of their slowest starts in Lakers history.
The Los Angeles Lakers were on a surge winning five of their last six games since the all-star break. Today the Lakers weren’t as lucky, as Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook of the Oklahoma City Thunder ended the game with a combined 63 points. Kobe Bryant gave a valiant effort with his 30-point performance, but Dwight Howard and Steven Nash only had a combined 26 points.
At the end of the third quarter, the Los Angeles Lakers cut into the lead and shrunk it to an eight-point deficit. Midway through the fourth quarter, the Los Angeles Lakers shrunk the lead all the way down to five, but a three pointer by Serge Ibaka, all but put the game away. This loss puts The Los Angeles Lakers below .500 once again. The Lakers are currently ninth place in the Conference standings.
