PHOENIX—The Phoenix Suns have traded Luis Scola to the Indiana Pacers. The Pacers will give forward Gerald Green, center Miles Plumlee and a lottery protected first round pick for Scola.

The 6-foot-9 forward from Argentina played his first five seasons with the Houston Rockets before being traded to the Suns a year ago. He appeared in all 82 games last season for the Suns and averaged 12.8 points and 6.6 rebounds.

Gerald Green has played for six different teams since coming to the NBA in 2005. Plumlee was selected in the first round by the Pacers last year, but appeared in only 14 games.

The priority of the Suns was the future first round draft pick they received, since they’re currently in the rebuilding process. Scola will help strengthen the already powerful Indiana Pacers as they make another run at the Miami Heat. He averaged 14.2 points and 7.5 points in six NBA seasons.
