Michigan Advances To 1st Final Four In 20 Years

UNITED STATES—On Sunday, March 31, The University of Michigan (No. 4 seed) advanced to the final four for the first time since 1989. The Wolverines demolished the Florida Gators (No. 3 seed) 79-59 in the elite eight in the cowboy stadium.

Wolverine freshman Nik Stauskas scored a career high 22 points and 19 of them came in the first half. Five of his six three pointers came in the first half of the game. Trey Burke had 15 points and seven assists.
Florida Gators Will Yeguette and Kenny Boynton both had 13 points in their loss to the Wolverines.
Michigan came off an 87-85 overtime win against (No.1 seed)
Kansas in the sweet sixteen. The Wolverine’s led through the first half up by as many as 24 points, but went into half time up by 17 points. The Florida Gators became the first team in NCAA Tournament history to lose 3 times in a row in the elite eight. The Wolverines went 10 for 19 from the three-point line.
Michigan will play
Syracuse (No. 4 seed) on Saturday in the Final Four. The game will air on CBS after the first Final Four matchup between
Louisville (No. 1 seed) vs.
State (No. 9 seed). The winners will meet Monday, April 8 for the championship game.
