NEW YORK—On Thursday, June 27, the NBA Draft day wasn’t only about the draft picks, as a sleuth of trades was made. The two teams involved most in trades were the Dallas Mavericks and the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The Timberwolves received No. 14 pick Shabazz Muhammad and No. 21 pick Gorgui Dieng from the Utah Jazz after trading away No. 9 pick Trey Burke to the Jazz. The Timberwolves also got a 2014 second round pick and cash considerations from the Golden State Warriors for trading away the No. 26 pick Nate Roberson and guard Malcolm Lee. Roberson was later traded to Oklahoma City Thunder for No. 29 pick Archie Goodwin. The Utah Jazz received the No. 27 pick Rudy Gobert from the Denver Nuggets, after trading away No. 46 pick Erick Green.

The Cavaliers sent No. 31 pick Allen Crabbe to the Portland Trailblazers for two future second round picks. The Dallas Mavericks received No. 18 pick Shane Larkin after trading away Jared Cunningham, No. 16 pick Lucas Nogueira and No. 44 pick Mike Muscala to the Atlanta Hawks. The Mavericks also traded away No. 13 pick Kelly Olynyk to the Boston Celtics for Nogueira, who they later traded to the Hawks.
