OKC Thunder Beat The Grizzlies

OKLAHOMA CITY—On Sunday, May 5, the Oklahoma City Thunder beat the Memphis Grizzlies in game one of the Conference Semi-Finals. The Thunder won 93-91 in a playoff thriller with late game heroics by Kevin Durant at home.

Kevin Durant led the Thunder to the win with his late go-ahead bucket. Durant had 35 points, 15 rebounds, six assists, one steal and two blocks during the game. Kevin Martin came off the bench to score 25 points to contribute to the win. Derek Fisher also shot two crucial fourth quarter three’s to bring OKC back. The Thunder out-rebounded the Grizzlies 43-41 for the game.

 

Marc Gasol led Memphis with 20 points, 10 rebounds, three assists, three steals and two blocks. Zach Randolph had 18 points and 10 rebounds for the night. Quincy Pondexter scored 13 points and grabbed five rebounds off the bench to contribute to the game. Memphis lost this game at the free throw line missing 10 crucial free throws in the game.

 

The best of seven series will continue in Oklahoma City on Tuesday with game two. The winner of this series would advance to the Western Conference Finals to play the winner of the San Antonio Spurs and Golden State Warriors series.
