LOS ANGELES—The Los Angeles Lakers have added a familiar face to their roster. Wednesday, the team announced that they signed former UCLA forward Reeves Nelson.

Nelson had been kicked of the team due to his repeated conduct violations. When Sports Illustrated released the infamous story of the alleged loss of control in the Bruin locker room and beyond, Nelson was specifically named and accused of, among other things, urinating on a teammates bed.

Nelson was known for his intense style of play and tough inside presence. The same qualities that made him a Pac-10 All-American also made him a difficult personality off the court.

After his dismissal from UCLA, the forward decided to try his luck overseas. After going undrafted in June, Nelson joined the Lakers Summer League team.

Nelson was signed to a 1-year, non guaranteed contract along with UC Santa Barbara alumn, Greg Samogyi, who also played on the Lakers Summer League team.
